It is DONE. Finally this picture is finished, after a failed save, and all the setbacks I have completed this monster of a drawing! I think it's the most large and detailed I've ever done.

Anyway here is the story behind it...

The Queen is dead, my title means just that, princess Celestia named Queen to honor her after her unfortunate assassination has left the entire empire of Equestria in chaos.

Now let me explain this in detail. In my Head canon Celestia and Luna are only ones exempt from natural deaths and therefore can only die due to oustside forces ( obviously they are still difficult to kill but it can be done) which is the case with the death of Celestia. Motives for this murder are still murky at best despite having the traitor in custody ( doesn't say much, just mutters "new blood, one ruler......no good...no good) The police are investigating the stallions involvement in a cult. But in the meantime several radical political parties have arisen each with a different opinion on how Equestria will now be run. One believing Luna should take over as the next ruler in line, another believing she is not fit after the whole Nightmare Moon nighttime eternal incident. Another thinks twilight is right for the job with yet another party to rival that notion as well, believing twilight to be too young or inexperienced to rule as the highest power, the list goes on. The political balance that once held Equestria together has now shattered and been reduced to war, with small battles attempting to settle differences through violence evolved into a country wide fight for power that has left poor Twilight not only grieving for her teacher but lost without her as well.

Celestia has ruled for over thousands of years and her sudden and unexpected death shocked a population who didn't know how to live without her, letting the weaknesses of the government finally shine through the facade of perfection that was Celestia's rule.

This picture depicts the mane six carrying out a clean up/search and rescue after one of many small battles occurring across the nation.
