Description

So what's Raeni up to while Hampus is gone? Training up her horse, Oxana of course! Eventually she'll be competing in showjumping and the occasional cross-country event too. Also feat. Ellie because she's a little darling <3 Oh and yes, Raeni rides with the Jamaican flag in competitions and has quite the patriotic set of tack! I also sunbleached Oxana's hair a bit, think it suits her.

As Oskar was still in hospital, Raeni with the occasional help of Andre had the whole of Witveld to herself for long enough to settle in comfortably. She had been away from the stables for a while following an argument between her and Hampus. She'd left one night to stay with her friend. Truth be told she missed Witveld the moment she left; and though she wouldn't admit it, also missed the grumpy giraffe who owned it.

Raeni was quite thankful that Hampus was going away so soon after she had arrived. It meant that she didn't need to have that awkward post-argument chat and reconciliation speech. Instead, she made herself busy around the stables, mainly cooing over the latest edition to Witveld, Ellie the filly. She had heard from Hampus before he left for the Netherlands that this interestingly named Zlesdin foal had a unique "singing" talent but figured it was some idiom or joke she didn't understand. All Raeni knew was that the filly was sweet natured and was more than happy to follow her around even while training. The foal never seemed to get in the way and was interested by everything around her. Ellie's eyes were always alert and her oversized fluffy ears never seemed to keep still.

One of Raeni's favourite horses is Oxana, a Traaker mare bought for her by Hampus not too long after he bought Edelweiss. She hadn't had much training since she'd left and the mare seemed a lot more antsy to get out than usual. Letting Ellie follow her closely behind, she tacked up Oxana and rode her to one of the spare fields where a broken fence with missing planks rendered it useless for keeping horses, but good practice for jumping on a soft surface. For a while, Ellie just trotted behind Oxana, keeping a fair distance and waited for her to jump; then would carry on following her. Raeni laughed as the foal galloped to keep up with Oxana who in her element cantered over the fences in a long and fast gait. Ellie seemed to gallop extra hard to keep up so Raeni slowed her mare before a fence so as to let Ellie overtake her. To Raeni's surprise, the young filly leapt effortlessly over a part of the hedge. This was impressive, but not more so than the noise she made with her tongue out as she landed.
"What di rass was dat?" Raeni was confused but found the noise so hilarious she could barely control Oxana.

Raeni knew for sure Hampus had dressage plans for the foal, but surely she could get around him on that and train her in jumping. At the very least, she'd try.
