Description
Check out my latest Windows 10 themes: gumroad.com/dpcdpc11Flat is the new solid!
Comes in two flavors: transparent and opaque window borders. Which one do you like best???
Been a while since I've released another Visual Style for Win7... so here I am again! It's not a completely new style, but a derived one from my Minimal Taste Reloaded .
I know... not another macintoshy style! So why did I do it you ask? Simple... I really love the Minimal Taste concept but I would always have to patch Firefox and Thunderbird every new release because of the 1px window frame. And since the Mozilla guys are in a releasing frenzy I've decided to fix my Windows Visual Style. So this was the beginning of a new journey into skinning another win7 visual style.
Hope you like the result... I've experimented with a few new things that you might enjoy, but even if you don't, please let me know!
You'll be glad to know that you won't be needing the Firefox patch anymore with this new theme!
Live view here: dpcdpc11.deviantart.com/art/Mi…
Package includes:
- the theme itself with the 2 variations: opaque and transparent
- Fonts need to make it work perfectly
- Explorer Navigation Buttons
- Windows Start Buttons: Minimal Taste start Orb and Minimal Taste start Orb Big
- Matching windows cursor schemes: Minimal Taste Cursors and Minimal Taste Cursors Dark
What's not in the package:
Icons used in the preview: Token by brsev

Been using it for a while.
Definitely the best and the smoothest "flat" V.S on the web.
Thanks a bunch
p.s.
still using it

Awesome work here! But yeah that gdipp app always messes up my computer somehow....
I can't use gimp or opera any more. The menus are like crap, can't read anything...
I would like to see another font choice, without the need of an additional font rendering program, so i can use this theme in daily base....Hope u can make it...
Nevertheless perfect job with this VS!

Thanks man. But u dont hav to use gdipp in order to display the font properly. Really I have no idea how come gdipp is messing up ur system, I use both opera and gimp and worksa and looks fine. The latest builds of chrome have a few issues with gdipp. I will make an aditional version with the stndard seoge ui font, I see there are many chirilic users out there.

Don't really know why...In the beginning i thought it was due to my display language(greek), but i change it back to english and still having the same problem...Guess i have to wait for the new Segoe Ui too...

I see... easy to fix!
Until I release the new version of the theme with Segoe UI font, unistall Aller font from your system, this will force the theme to use the system's default font.
No about gdipp and gimp... easy: you also need to install and run gdipp32 bit even thought you have a 64bit OS. Why you ask? Also simple... gdipp64bit will apply the font smoothness only to the 64bit applications, this includes the operating system's services and programs. Now the 32bit gdipp will apply to only the 32bit apps which are the most apps you use, including GIMP, your browser (if you use Firefox 32bit, Opera or Chrome(latest nightly builds have some issues with gdipp - Chrome sucks ass!)). So to fix the GIMP problem and enjoy smooth fonts in your 32bit Firefox, also install gdipp32bit.
Easy, right?

Sorry for keep "stalking" you about this but it didn't work...
Firstly i can't uninstall Aller font...It doesn't let me cuz it says that it is used...
I change back to original theme, delete yours, closing all running applications but nothing worked either...
To the gdipp part now...My windows are x64...How can I install the x64 and x32 version?I downloaded both, but after i install the x32 version for example, the other just repairs the version that is already installed...
I need to copy any dlls to system32/syswow64 folders? o.O
I ll have to wait for the new version i guess...
P.S Thnaks for your help!

About the gdipp problem... usually both 32 and 64 versions should have been installed in c:\Program Files (x86)\gdipp\ 👍: 0 ⏩: 0
You can confirm this by checking to see if these files exists in the above foldee:
EasyHook32.dll
EasyHook64.dll
gdimm_32.dll
gdimm_64.dll
gdipp_common_32.dll
gdipp_common_64.dll
gdipp_demo_32.exe
gdipp_demo_64.exe
gdipp_hook_32.exe
gdipp_hook_64.exe
gdipp_loader_32.exe
gdipp_loader_64.exe
gdipp_pre_32.exe
gdipp_pre_64.exe
gdipp_svc_32.exe
gdipp_svc_64.exe
Now you must install gdipp as a service. How do you do that? Again, very simple: run these 2 files:
gdipp_svc_32.exe
gdipp_svc_64.exe
Now hit the windows start button, type Services and check to see if there are the 2 gdipp services listed, both 32 and 63 bit.
That should be it. If you want to exclude certain apps to use gdipp, like GIMP for example, you just have to edit the files gdipp_setting.xml in the c:\Program Files (x86)\gdipp\ folder. You do this by adding in the
Hope this helps!

There's nothing to fix cause nothing is broken. I will add another version with the default font segoe ui. But not right now. I'm waiting to see if people find bugs. After all the bux are fixed, I will add the segoe ui font version.

Would love a "squared" version of this... with all rounded edges of windows, buttons, etc nice and sharp / squared... with the std Segoe UI font. That would be perfect for me !!!

a segoe ui font version will be available soon! not so sure about the square version... corners feels so aggressive and they're not really pleasant to the eyes!

LLiamGarner In reply to dpcdpc11 [2011-11-11 05:47:27 +0000 UTC]
Hey hey... the font would be very appreciated.
I am using a square theme for my Opera browser, and was using a square visual style before yours, and it just works. The square Windows vs was just too blue and harsh, but your greys and attention to detail just kiss the eyes, BUT, I miss the squared style... it just feels / looks nice and modern.
Your vs is one of the most usable on a daily basis... it is just my own little wish for a squared version... it is something I wish I was talented enough to do!
Thanks again for your efforts... they are rewards in themselves.

dpcdpc11 In reply to LLiamGarner [2011-11-11 08:37:20 +0000 UTC]
You're welcome!
There is a squared theme in the workx [link]
But I'm not really sure in which direction to take it so dunno when I'll be able to release it.
The black window border will have to go and find a solution because black borders are way to heavy on the eyes and I don't want to do that... I'm all for usability you know!
Also I don't want to make just another generic theme with the same transparent border.
So after I tweak a bit Minimal Taste Flat (for example the Edit boxes, add a Segoe UI version people are asking for), all my attention will be on the next theme. And when I'm done with that and I'm not dead yet, I might consider doing a squared version of this one.

can't give you a link to the other 3 icons... the gmail icon it's something I've picked up a long time ago (can't remember from where) and the other 2 are modded icons of some finder icon I found a long time ago (also can't remember from where).

I love these minimal VS! Great work bro!
Here I like especially the Max-Min-Buttons, the small dot
But on the other hand I prefer to have minimal borderless, so I stick to minimal reloaded

I know what you mean bro, I'm also for the bordeless design, but the damn windows devs didnt took this option into account so many software break when using such themes. Minimal flat fixes this problem.
