Haha, yeah point well taken. I've already busted my windows registry twice! (once this morning! I learned my lesson about setting restore points though!)
I know it doesn't technically have anything to do with web dev per se, I'm just interested because it's within the realm of UX Design stuff (that's what I do as my trade, and then I'm learning web dev because I think it's basically necessary for the future of my career). I find it fun to fiddle around with UI of all kinds.
Also there's some particular things that people do with their themes I'm less a fan of and I want to be able to change.
The scene in general is very interesting/weird to me. It obviously took a big hit when Vista/8/10 clamped stuff down and made it harder to use, but there's obviously some very talented people still making stuff! But nobody it seems really on a professional level and the tools are all really janky to use. I'm also using a little bit of Stardock stuff and even they haven't updated their tools in forever.
Anyway that's one reason why I kind of want to know how to do stuff because it seems there's a baseline interest but I'd be curious to see if I could put together some proper git repos and maybe modify and update some of the tools to be more user friendly.

This is probably the best light theme mashup in the world. It'd be amazing to have it for free because I don't have any money to spend on themes at the moment.Β Can I please get the download link?

Hi, this is meant to be a follow up message on the note where you sent me some free themes. First i want to say that some time ago i did use windows themes, but already a week later i ran into problems, so i stopped using windows themes. But then now when you sent me some themes for free (thank you) i was kinda tempted to try them again. But on the same day that i installed the theme i ran into more problems (Action center not working, Windows apps having the icons miss), so i was just going to ask if you know any fixes to these windows themes problems.

I've never experienced any of the problems you're describing either using my own themes or others.
And it doesn't even make any sense! Windows themes can't change apps icons or screw up the action center.
It seems you have a broken Windows or have some 3rd party software that screws it up.
I would suggest you do a fresh install and your problems will go away as long as you don't pollute Windows with bad software.
And if you have a look in the comments section of my themes, you'll see that you won't find anyone complaining about the things you mentioned so this means that it's definitely something wrong with your Windows installation.

Why do you need the windows registry, what does it do, and if something goes wrong how do you reverse it?

These are some registry values that make the theme look right (details like the scrollbar width, window frame padding, etc.) which can only be setup by the registry. You can always revert back to the default windows metrics values buy running the windows10_default_window_metrics.reg file included.

Did this receive a 1709 update, or is the 1703 version compatible with 1709? I'd just visit my Sellfy link again and re-download it, but the link did not point to the new version after the 1703 version was released so it's no longer of use to me. If the theme had to be updated for build 1709, I'd appreciate a new link.

Just make sure you have the latest version of UltraUXThemePatcher installed: ultrauxthemepatcher.en.lo4d.coβ¦

Hello, really great work.
I have just bought Simplify light pack, thinking that it will have (for example) this theme. However, the pack is only for the icon on the right top, I have read too fast...

Hey, so far I'm really loving this theme!
Just a couple of things, in Firefox Quantum the 3 circles do not display, only the typical windows minimize, resize, close icons show up and with a white background.
Also, how can I make the File, Home, View ribbon disappear in windows explorer?Β

About firefox and other software that have their own skinning system... as you can imagine the Windows theme can't override those GUIs.
As for the explorer... please read the instructions... all of them... no cheating
I clearly specify this:
