Feeling kinda nostalgic lately, remembering the good ol' Windows 95-98 days when I got my first PC, and so... my computer journey began.So I thought "why not mix Simplify 8 and Windows 98 GUI?" And this is my latest creation in progress: Simplify 8 Light Classic!
This is for all you oldies but goldies out there! What do you think? Like it?

but for the icons on a complete package or you have replaced it manually?

If you mean the taskbar icons, you have to replace them manually.
If you mean the icons in explorer, then I'm using the numix ipack.

There are already a couple of themes trying to replicate the classic theme, but I donβt want to do that. It's still going to be Simplify but with a sprinkle of classical feeling.

The balance is broken a bit with the parts that have both flat and beveled styling. I think I would rather go with either one, not a combination of them (as they have completely different philosophy). With that being said, cool to see you branch out, cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. I know it's hard to mix these 2 philosophies but that was the point. Never liked the crappy beveled elements in windows classic but since I'm a long time Windows user I wanted to bring back a bit the old times in a modern style, that's why I kept the beveled to minimum.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not sure if you actually googled some images with win 98, but the idea was to recreate the same feeling of beveled button only flatter. If I remove the inner shadows like you said I'm left with only flat buttons which defeats my purpose.
If you like the taskbar you should like the caption buttons as well since they have the same style, a continuation of the UI present on win 98 as well.

I know what Windows 98/95 looked like as that was one of my first computers.
Sorry if I sounded mean or something, not what I was going for. It does look nice! Just doesn't flow extremely well to me.
And the taskbar (again, the borders/shadows don't flow super well with modern flat style) looks good, I like it! Especially the idea of those dots on the sides of the taskbar items to indicate multiple instances; good idea!
