The group of critters carefully analyzed the bulletin board. They had no idea what it said, but that wasn't going to stop them from looking. Fortunately, they had this strange, noisy two legged creature to translate it for them. Their home needed a special tree, one decorated to shine with lights! If they did a good job, there would be a nice reward for them.

Several hours of gathering various items, trinkets, bauables, treasures, ornaments, candies, and yes, even bugs....
Now what? They looked up at the strange leader of their gang, awaiting a bit of help. The creature was paused, deep in contemplation. It began lifting up various things that they had brought, and placing them on the tree. All the critters moved to help. This here, now there. Move this one back to that spot. String these here. Don't bite those! Arrange this like so. Sprinkle some strange concoction over the whole thing to make it white. The flyers were great at that. Weave these tiny sparkling lights throughout. Don't bite that, either!

Soon the tree was transformed. No longer a plain, green tree. It now shone with glittering festiveness. Presents sat below, a snowflake glowed above, and beetles crawled in pretty lines around the branches. But something was missing, it just didn't feel complete. And so, the strange creature introduced the critters to the camera! With careful instruction, and lots of pantomiming, it showed them how to take a picture. Each critter armed with a child friendly instant photo camera, they set out to capture an image of someone at the ranch. Meanwhile, the strange creature, being more than a bit strange, decided to paint all the silver bugs gold while it waited.

That was the last time ANY of them would play with glue. They all agreed on that. While the final result of the finishing touches were perfect, the messy bath time that was to follow may not have been worth the effort. Nor the debacle with the paint cans... They had all taken a picture of some portion of the ranch, brought their pictures back to the strange gang leader, and then helped to glue them onto more round, colorful balls that were then hung from the branches. Now covered in sticky patches of clumped fur feathers and glue, they stood admiring their handywork. It was certainly the perfect tree for the Ranch. It simply felt like it belonged.

Later that night, Bayou Blue snuck back in, to snag a shiny blue trinket off the branches, eat the milk and cookies, and then sneak back off to the Shoppe to deliver his gift to his beloved darling Prisk. The Motion Capture Camera caught this image as the little sneak made his escape.
