Description
For 's contest. It turned out a little more whaleish than I had envisioned, with elements from a blue and a right whale (for the barnicley growths).Related content

If I remember correctly, Gojira is basically a mash-up of the japanese words for gorilla and whale. I don't think it necessarily means that Gojira is a hybrid of those two, it's just what came to mind.

It was the nickname of some big shot in toho back then. So they decided to name the monster after him.

I think this is the most successful attachment of limbs to an aquatic animal that I've ever run into.
It fits together as a definite singular creature, but with more of an Ultraman-monster vibe than anything.
I particularly like the style. Nice and exaggerated, like an action cartoon.

Ooooooooo, I liiiike! The blue coloration really makes him stand out, and the mix of gorilla and whale in his head is particularly top notch - it's mainly baleen whale, but it has a lot of ape in the teeth area to make it damn menacing. The strong arms and legs look formidable even when carrying all that bulk, and the vestigial flippers are made of awesome. A fantastic addition to the ape whale gallery!

thanks. I was also thinking of turning the barnicle growths into colonies of Cloverfield-esque parasites, but that's a different monster altogether...
Arrr, beware the killer barnacles!

Yeah, I noticed that after I had scanned it and colored it. Thanks though.

Thanks, though.
