Description
Like the Hydruka of old, Scuttlebugs are somewhat stubborn Rahi that inhabit the underground caverns of Okoto's Earth Region. Their mixed colouration is due to their constant exposure to many mineral deposits. They have been tamed by the Earth Villagers and are often used for transporting goods, much like Ussal Crabs. Their extended mouths can fire a toxic chemical compound that corrodes even the toughest alloy. The rear set of arm appendages are used for holding onto villagers and cargo for transport, sort of like a harness. They are in fact atrophied wings that belonged to their surface-dwelling ancestors. The forward arm appendages are used in combat, much like tusks, as well as for grabbing onto food. They are omnivorous, and will often eat the various fungi that grown down in the caves. Their large eyes are perfectly suited for living in the low-light.
