Description
been a while hasn't it? This one was pretty fast to make, it's only about 20 frames reversed. Ahhh I need to use graph paper or something, I have this bad habit of having my subjects shift a bit uuuuuuuuughhh.Vex is so sweet when he sleeps
EDIT: Removed that one troublesome frame in GIMP

You could try tracing paper, which would allow you to layer things and make sure stuff doesn't shift between frames...

yeah, the paper I use is thin enough to see underneath, but thick enough to have some give if I need to erase shit, I just was not paying close enough attention as I was drawing, it was just a little doodle animation for fun

Aww!! Cute! XD A light box and a peg board might help you out with the shifting

It's a very useful thing if you're doing animations on paper. I'm sure they're not too expensive if you get just the simple one. >< I'm trying to be helpful!! DX

XD I use Premiere. Though I hated Premiere Pro 2 because it was full of bugs >< I use CS4 now with my new computer!!
You should try to learn After Effects too though, I like to use that with Premiere

I guess when I get around to more advanced stuff probably. I think my first project is just Premier tho

After Effects is pretty easy to learn... Much easier than Premiere IMO But whatever.

OLD REPLY!
Well Premier is a lot like iMovie, but I've never used anything like After Effects so new territory!

Yeah, my friend in film co-op uses After Effects. I have it, but the only editing software I've used is iMovie and Photoshop/Fireworks

yeah, a lot of places I've worked in use After Effects. It's definately something to at least put on your CV if you want a career in animation XD Also Toonboon people are highly sought after too. But still, good animation skill trumps overall as they can train you in the software in regards to drawing. Editting you should learn though.

I'm pretty good at sound editing, I usually have other crew members handle stuff like green screening and particles. I really only know how to use preset effects tools Β

lol XD Well, eventually, you might need to do that sort of thing yourself. The working world isn;t interested in people who excel at just the one thing, you're going to need to cover all your bases

but if I'm using GIMP now, I might not need to do paper animation anymore...I have one in the works, but after that's done (whenever I finish the Vex one) I'll probably go to digital animation from now on. So far in uni we're just dicking around not really LEARNING stuff yet. Maybe it's because I'm just in first year but I already kinda have an informal contract as lead artist and animator for a game in the works, so that's why I'm pushing to learn this stuff from you now, rather than waiting to go over it in class over the next...4 years.
