Dedicated to an American soldier who goes by Skrap at the Twisted Kaiju Theater, who was accidently shot in the head by some careless twerp who didn't practice proper gun safety.

Before you offer condolences or feel bad, I don't know him beyond the forums and he's alive. His girlfriend, fellow soldier and TKT member Dusty, reports that the bullet lost most of its momentum ricocheting around the room and lost more going through Skrap's goggles.

Back to Mecha Rodan, the design borrows heavily from concept art of the aerial anti-kaiju weapons Garuda. It also includes Beam Wings, which are based on the V Gundam concept of the Beam Rotor. The difference is that a Beam Rotor provides an MS with helicopter-style flight, while the Beam Wings work just like wings while the three rockets mounted on the torso provide thrust. I'm also pleasantly surprised with how the head turned out. Thought I was going to have to trace some timid-looking Rodan concept art or modify a Mecha King Ghidorah head, but I ended up not doing either of those.

EDIT: If you've ever seen Gundam SEED, you may agree with me that the torso looks like it has a BuCue head embedded in the belly.

Edit 1/25/10: I finally got fed up with those crappy beam wings and replaced them with better-looking ones. GO TEAM VENTURE!
