Description
I happen to be browsing through my lovely lineart collection when I noticed I had this neat picture of Metal Gear Ray that had a nice-looking pair of legs. I also noticed that its face kind of resembled Zilla's, except a lot more slender. With that inspiration in mind, I cruised around for some more ideas for a Mecha Zilla and ended up revising EVERY part selection at least once except for the legs. It's crazy.Height: 90 meters
Powers: Fast and maneuverable underwater, capable of burrowing, back-mounted missile/torpedo launchers, excellent jumper, heat ray (production model only), beam-resistant coating (production model only)
History: After the monster Zilla caused severe damage to New York City, the USA decided to build its own mecha capable of fighting off monster attacks. The president, wanting to inspire American patriotism, ordered the American anti-kaiju mecha to be developed entirely by American scientists and manufacturers. The robot, nicknamed Mecha Zilla by the Japanese media, was adept at both land and sea combat thanks to its flexible body type. Though it was claimed by many to be inferior to Japan's Cyber Godzilla and Delta Mechagodzilla, the Mecha Zilla was a powerful anti-kaiju weapon, though its flaws became apparent when Zilla, now a cyborg thanks to unknown agents, reappeared in Nevada. The two faced off close to Las Vegas in what ended as a near-victory for America. The landscape was covered in mechanical bits and flesh, but the city itself was spared damage. The cyborg modifications to Zilla had included a powerful beam weapon that had severely damaged the Mecha Zilla's armor and some of the machinery recovered was pieces of Zilla's face armor, which the scientists were able to reverse-engineer into their own mecha beam weapon and an anti-beam coating for the second Mecha Zilla under construction in San Diego.
Once the second Mecha Zilla (an improved "production" model) was completed, it was assigned to the USA's anti-kaiju squad, H.E.A.T, which was led by Colonel Hicks, the officer in charge of driving Zilla out of New York, and Niko Tatopoulos, the leading expert on Zilla. Mecha Zilla was deployed to numerous sites in the Western hemisphere on anti-kaiju missions. The beam weapon proved incredibly effective against the various threats it faced.
Note: The Zilla cyborg I mention is supposed to be the Cyber-Zilla that appeared in Godzilla: The Series. [link]
I decided this is #27 Foreign on my 100 Word Meme 'cause robot monsters are usually made in Japan, so this would be a foreign-built robot. SO THERE. DO NOT QUESTION ME. >:U

Very neat, it truly feels like a mechanical dopplerganger of zilla as it imitates the overall structure of his build very well. Metal Gear Ray was a good source for parts.
