And now the last of the lovely Ozai's Angels, Mai.I don't have a lot to say about this one, really. It was surprisingly easy compared to Ty Lee and Azula ; it really was a case of just sitting down, picturing how she should look, and being amazed at how easily that came about. Mai might be cranky but she's a very cooperative art model.

Heh, she's not exactly my favorite character either. She came across as whiny to me, especially early on. She really impressed me in Boiling Rock, though; I think the secret to Mai is that she's at her best when she's given something to care about.
She cares about Zuko, and as soon as he was threatened, she rose to the challenge and showed how good and brave a person she can be. ^^

Heh, thanks. ^^ I was expecting it to be hard to get that perfect blend of stoic and bored and smug in there, but to my surprise it was easy as breathing. Mai liked to be drawn, I think. Just don't tell her we know, it'll make her mad.

I think it's more stylish... maybe is because of that she is Zuko girlfriend, even thought he has a very large group of fangirls....

She is pretty complex, huh? More complex than most probably realize. She totally had a big story going for her. ^^ You really caught her emotion here ^^
Might I make one quick observation, If I may?

One little thing I'd like to point out if I may is that Mai has two smaller buns on the top of her hair usually, just something to make note of later on. But no worries, the pic is incredible as is, You can't compete with Mai's complex and stately figure

Anyway, great pic as always. Her gloomy expression and pose are done with great detail and do her character justice. And of course, I can't resist faving this. $5 bucks says your next five pics are all instant fave, it's just that great. And at this rate, I'm just going to have to make a folder for your art in my faves. Keep up the good work.

Heh. Well, I apriciate the kind words. Good to know when a picture really hits the mark. I hope to keep the hits coming a little fast now that I don't have to juggle pencil, paper, ink pens, and scanner; we'll see how long I can keep the pace up.
