I had no idea mantidflies even existed before I found this one. I thought it was a paper wasp at first, but something about its movement didn't seem quite right. Closer inspection revealed that it wasn't a wasp at all. Its disguise sure fooled me.I wish I could have gotten a better angle, but the surroundings made it impossible.
