Description Caught these two "getting along" in the yard. Made me happy because these guys are great pest control.

That is soooo cool that you got to see this racer up close. The Blue Racer here where I live are so fast that you just see a flash of them as they slither across the ground.

I didn't even know there was a Blue Racer. Had to Google it. It's so pretty! These black racers are pretty fast too, and shy (unless you mess with them). But if I stop immediately when I see them and sneak in very slowly, they tend to hang around longer.

Yep, there is a Blue Racer. And oh yes, they are very pretty. If you see one right on a bright sunny day,
their blue scales just are gorgeous!
The blue racer here are pretty shy too. That's why its matter of a chance to see them close or come across one.
I have seen only 2, so far in my life time.

That is so awesome that you got to see this Black Racer like you did and that you were able to take a photo of him too.
If I see a Blue Racer again, I will try your stop and move slowly method to see if I can get a longer look at one.

Yeah. Then again, the two in this picture probably weren't in a hurry anyway. But yes, give it a try! I think it is sudden movement more than anything that scares them.

Thank you! It helps when they let you get all up in their space (not that I would do that with a venemous species ).
