Thought I'd have enough time to participate in the event, somehow. Wouldn't be able to make something respectable in the three days I have left, but it was still fun to do a little brainstorming. I'm pleased with any opportunity I get to bring more monstrosities into this God-forsaken world.

The colour palette wasn't something I'd normally use, bright and a little clash-y, so silly spooky carnival stuff is mostly what came to mind. It was an interesting challenge, and it's curious to see how it influenced the concepts. I think things woulda looked rather different if I were making the whole palette myself.

I find it funny how much some of this stuff diverges from the original game. The creations of the community in general can stretch so far from their source material. Sometimes the only tie left is the similarity of their faces to those of Undertale's characters. Such an odd beast it's grown into. I'm quite fond of it, for some reason or another-- I guess there's a freedom to it.

The story I want to tell is going to play on that a lot. A little showcase of general absurdity, molded vaguely around tropes I see in the community. It feels a little odd to say, considering I don't feel like my finger is exactly on the pulse of it and its wonderful children, I must admit. We'll see where things go, I suppose.

Drat, I nearly forgot to mention! Yes, there's a Vendetta cameo in there. For whatever reason I was fussing over that knife-juggling fellow looking similar to him, think it was the tuxedo combined with the exaggerated, sharp-toothed jaw. Decided to draw him half to assuage my fears and half because any excuse to draw Vendetta must be taken. (Why's he wearing such big stinkin' boots today? I dunno, ask him.)
