One part of my entry to the G.I.R.L Gamers In Real Life competition. The contest asked for us to pick either Everquest or New Realms and design an environment and a creature that fits in that environment.

Here I chose New Realms. After exploring many of the cities and towns, I thought something different that may add the the whimsical nature of the game would be a volcanic, yet, peaceful, city.

"The Lava Mountains is a peaceful, yet industrial town found within Sacred Grove of Free Realms. Surprisingly, the lava produced by the mountains here is not dangerous at all, but provides ambient, natural lighting and is slightly warm to the touch. The buildings are composed of volcanic rock, which is abundant and plentiful. Small assortments of shops lie under the largest volcano, and mines exist around the base for mining precious ores. The player may traverse the narrow bridges and rocky ledges, as well as an open park near the Lava Lake. Vegetation is sparse. Based off of the Dracaena tree (which is known to live in diverse environments), Lizardspine Bushes thrive near the magical lava and produce juicy leaves for the indigenous species. I imagined the Lava Mountains to be unique in that it portrays a menacing subject—volcanoes—in a non-threatening, whimsical, and playful light."
