Not sure if our suggestions will amount to much, but whenever I look at Teal Lydia I always think she looks a bit like a nervous owl. Maybe something themed off of that? (First name to spring to my mind was Athena, given her association with owls -- but then again, I've still got Greek mythology on the brain from final papers, so that's probably why.)
