So you say you like space pics. Well, you have apparently done quite a few more than myself and I am impressed that you do it all in Photoshop. I tend to do things in Bryce and do some finishing work in Paint Shop Pro, which is somewhat equivalent to Photoshop Elements. I like the feel of your pictures. If I were to offer any constructive criticism, it would be from a place of personal preference and observation for your consideration and nothing more. I would personally have attempted to achieve a greater level of distinctness and detail on the smaller planets or moons. I realize that you were probably trying to communicate a sense of motion with the blurred rings, but at tht distance that kind of motion blur is more likely to be perceived as a solid and semi transparent element rather than individual elements blurred. I do really like your suns and starfield and as I said, the overall feel of the picture and I do not presume that my preferences on those aspects of the picture mentioned, would improve that feeling in the eyes of many people. So please just take my comments as food for thought. I have done some space pictures as well as a variety of other work. I have just completed one of a blue nebula which you might find interesting. Anyway, nice work, I like your gallery and I like your recent efforts using lattice work to break up the elements of the picture.

Thank you ^^ I'm so glad I actually got a long review! and constructive critisisum too! I like the layout of this one... but there's so many things I can do better now it's just.. almost painful to look at >< I understand what you're saying.. and I kinda cheet with my rings anyway.. I made one set of rings using a tutorial a long time ago and saved it.. I use the same set for every picture I do...

here, though, I was still kindof learning, I'm still learning now, but I mean, I didn't know as much then as I do now... it took me a long time to figure out how to do planets and/or moons in a more.. visually appealing manor...

Thank you so much for your comment!!! I'll be sure to check your stuff out!!!

Glad you able to take it in a positive manner. Critiquing other people's work can be a tricky thing and everything in art is so subjective that I am always rather hesitant. You really don't want to come off like "hey I've arrived and this is how you should do it" which is something no one is really in a position to do. All who try and are concientious will get better as they go along. I look at some of my earlier stuff and cringe, but hey, it was the best I knew how to do at the time. I don't know about you, but when I started doing this stuff I had no intention of showing it to anyone else. I do it for my own enjoyment and creative outlet. If I am pleased with the effort at the time, that is all that matters to me. It was only because of the encouragement of my second son, who is an art student and computer graphics major, that I put some of it up on DA. I was hoping for more constructive criticism than I have received. The "wow that is cool" responses are nice and encouraging but don't really help one to fine tune what they are doing very much. So, I do occasionally venture some more precise comments because that is really what I would like to receive myself, but it is always with trepidation.

I can totally understand.. I don't comment alot on other peoples' works, because, unless I really, really like it, I don't have much to say to encourage and creteque their work. and I've actually had some one, on one of my stories, go "well, it's a good idea, but you must do it this way or else it's crap" only wraped up in lots of complicated words that almost make it sound like a complement... or, would, if one were extremely dense. I put the "advanced Creteque Encouraged" thingie up for a reason.. and it's ignored... -sighs-
