Description
A request by megasxlrfan [link]As usual, megasxlrfan has great taset, Extreme Ghostbusters was one of my favorite shows growing up (So was the Original Ghostbusters cartoon, but that's neither here nor there). Just like the original cartoon as well as the movie it was based on, the cartoon mixed wacky humor with surprisingly eerie horror elements, and somehow did it well.
I didn't know how to approach this one, so I just went with everyone's favorite characters (besides Egon and Slimer), Kylie and Eduardo.
Personally I had no problem with Garrett or Roland; it's just that Kylie was a cute goth chick and Eduardo was a sarcastic smartass, so by default they ended up being my favorites (I don't know if that's the same lodgic everyone else had, but that's at least what I figure).
I also had a tough time because there aren't too many clear refrence pics on Google. I'm not 100% sure if I got both character's equipment and costumes right (It's been ages since I've seen the show, and without too many refrence pics, I had to draw everything from memory).
One of the many things that stood out was the fact that the series seemed darker than the original. I mean the Real Ghostbusters had some dark moments, but If I'm not mistaken this part just seemed a lot more dark. Maybe it's because the original series was made during the 80's and this one was made in the late 90's, so the contrast is like compairing apples and oranges. But I could have sworn that in Extreme, random extras actually died or they hinted to them dieing. That and the overal style of the show, as well as some of the creature designs looked much creeper than the original.... I donno', I think I'm just rambling.
I'm not quite sure who owns the rights to the show, but it isn't me. I do not claim ownership of any part of the Ghostbusters franchise.

That was certainly my logic. I liked this cartoon even better than the original cartoon(don't kill me!)partly due to how fucked the monster(not all of them are ghosts) designs are. Take the sphinx, who had a single eyestalk and green tentacles under his mask.

I actually liked Extreme a little more than Real too. I guess it was because of the times I grew up in.
And yeah, the monster designs were all... really weird (in a very good way.) They were all so unique and alot of them were actually nightmare material. The show in general had a very mature feel for a cartoon, but then again, alot of shows within the 95-2000 time period were pretty good. There are some good ones now, but they aren't as common as they use to be.

I think it was done by the same people who did the Men in Black Cartoon, and I think The Jacky Chan Adventures too. I've been trying to reasearch it for a while, but too few sites have any of the production information for it.
