Absolutely love it. The eyes, hair, and Tenpenny Tower in the background.

Absolutely beautiful. Love the eyes and the background, I like the contrast between the spray painted wall behind her and the fancy Tenpenny tower behind that, very well done. You are getting better and better.

I do too, they are incredibly good. I have been curious ever since I saw your first picture, how do you do the eyes so well? Do you look at pictures of human eyes, because it looks so real?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-04 01:45:44 +0000 UTC]

I usually use pictures for reference but most of the time I don't need any reference for eyes. I'm glad you like them so much, that is really cool.

Wow, so you just free-hand the eyes? Tht is really really really awesome, I really love how realistic they look. How did you learn to draw them? Just doing it over and over?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-05 19:40:17 +0000 UTC]

Mostly I just learn from looking at pictures. I never really thought they looked that realistic, but people do keep telling me that so I guess maybe you're right.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-06 03:29:33 +0000 UTC]

Well they really do look realistic, it's actually really really cool how good they look. How much time do you usually spend drawing them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-06 03:45:39 +0000 UTC]

The eyes take hardly any time at all when I really sit down and do them. Just a few minutes usually, its the rest of the face that takes so darn long.

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-06 03:49:10 +0000 UTC]

That's surprising, with how much detail you put into the eyes I would have guessed they would take a long time haha. So what would you say the hardest part of a face is for you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-07 04:57:23 +0000 UTC]

I think I'm going to say that it was is the nose. I hate noses. But it could be the lips. No totally the nose, that is the hardest and it changes the whole look of the face if its wrong.

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-07 05:04:37 +0000 UTC]

Well you do the nose very very very well haha, you do it all great. I'm incredibly curious though. The lips look way awesome in the final draft of this, how did you change them to fix them because I can't tell what you did, I can only tell that you changed them somehow?

I just moved the line over from when you first saw it. I think I made it darker... I really don't remember.

Well it looks really good, I couldn't even tell what you did I just knew you had made it better lol, good job. So, are you still working on the Johnny and Relic one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-07 23:19:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah but I gave up on it for now, cause it kind of sucked. I'll go back to it when I get a better painting system.

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-07 23:57:26 +0000 UTC]

Which one? Were you going to do two, one realistic on and one 80's poster one, or were you just doing one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-08 00:00:46 +0000 UTC]

I haven't started the 80's poster one and the realistic one failed miserably when I first did it... so both I guess.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-08 00:03:08 +0000 UTC]

Oh, so you are going to do the 80's poster one? I was just teasing about it, you don't have to if you don't want to

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-08 00:04:16 +0000 UTC]

No I totally am going to do it. Its gonna be awesome, but it'll take awhile.

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-08 00:07:21 +0000 UTC]

It will be so frikin awesome lol. I didn't think you were serious about doing it, that is so awesome, gah I can't wait for it. What did you mean you are waiting for a new program though?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-08 00:10:01 +0000 UTC]

Oh when I get done with my homework I'm gonna get a new drawing program. Corel or Photoshop, I need to download the demos to decide.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-08 00:11:55 +0000 UTC]

Done with your homework, as in today, or when you get caught up lol?

That is really awesome though, were you thinking of buying it brand new from the store/website?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-08 00:48:38 +0000 UTC]

When I get all caught up thats gonna be my reward for myself.

I'm gonna download the demos for two programs and then pick which one I want to buy. Right now I'm leaning toward Photoshop but I already use a lesser version of Corel so... still undecided.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-08 01:03:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha, well that is an awesome reward for you then. That is a really awesome reward, and when you do that you should also take a break for a while and play some games to relax lol and we could write a lot more... that would all be one huge reward one weekend for you

Ok, that is awesome, when you do choose which one to buy, be sure to let me know before you actually buy it, is that ok?

Oh, and have you ever tried Gimp?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-08 01:22:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I thought it was a good choice. And why should I tell you before I buy it?

I haven't used gimp actually.

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-08 01:36:53 +0000 UTC]

Because, I have a friend that works at the school that works with programs like that and installs them on the computers there and he knows where to go to get all of the stuff cheaper. Also my sister is a photographer, not sure if told you that before, but she has uses Corel I believe and has used Photoshop so once you figure it out I can talk to her and she can tell you more about them and where to get it easier and cheaper.

Well, like I said my sister takes pictures all the time and uses those programs, and she said Gimp is pretty much a free version of Photoshop. I guess it has all the core features of photoshop, and it is totally free

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to aMintyFreshness [2011-03-08 01:44:13 +0000 UTC]

Okay cool. Yes I can tell you when I decide.

Yeah I think I tried to use gimp once and it was really confusing. Maybe that wasn't what I used though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

aMintyFreshness In reply to Dragonavicious [2011-03-12 04:05:24 +0000 UTC]

Awesome, actually while you are deciding, do you want me to call my sister and ask of what she thinks of each? Because I am almost positive she has used Corel and I know she has used Photoshop, so she could tell you a lot about both from her experience. Except, she is a photographer and uses it for that, is there a big difference in the way it is used depending on if you are an artist or photographer?

Well, that's what my sister said is that it is basically the core functions of photoshop, but that it was a little confusing. [link] Is that the one you used?
