Description
Deadpyre is another one of the characters in my superhero universe, but he isn't a hero. Nor, for that matter is he a villain. Deadpyre is the world's most powerful medium. The voices of the dead have been talking to him his entire life. Everywhere he goes he hears the voices that no one else can hear, and it has driven him completely insane. Deadpyre also has another ability: whenever somebody dies in his general vicinity he bursts into blue flames, gains enormous strength, and becomes impervious to all but the heavyest damage. His powers will eventually run out of juice and he will return to normal, but the more people who die around him the stronger he gets and the longer he burns. He also becomes more and more terrified and dangerous.

Deadpyre was at one point commited to an insane asylum, where they managed to hold him for a few months before his other ability came to light. When one of the patients killed another patient, however, deadpyre burst into flames and simply burned through the straightjacket that was holding him. He shrugged off all attempts to restrain him, punched through a wall, and escaped.

Deadpyre often kills people when he's powered up, but he isn't a bad person per se. In his mind everything and everyone is a threat. Nonetheless, his dangerous nature forces the superheroes of the universe to try to take him down. Deadpyre can often have positive effects at times. As one of the most powerful super-beings alive, Deadpyre is often able to take down some of the most dangerous supervillains out there. Deadpyre doesn't set out to save the world, but if he meets someone who frightens him he can end up having that effect anyway.

Capturing Deadpyre is always a very high priority on any superhero's to-do list, but he usually is able to escape from captivity, often with the aid of those who want to use his power for their own purposes.
