I'm sorry if you don't like what I say, but I think this tutorial is kinda lame, because it only shows the easy part of CG, and if you want to do something that really deserve a big amount of favorites, you won't get it with this tutorial. Besides, the girl's cheek looks to red, it makes me think that she's bleeding or something like that, and all the things, including the background, looks artificial. The draw also looks too much like it was been drawn by a begginer. I know this tutorial is really old, but you could at least do something better on this.

How did you colour in the lines on your lineart. [Just the lines]

you take the layer with only the lines on it. and you dupicate it then you change the copy to like screen or somthing fun.. (play around) and take the prush and paint over the lines.

Hmm, never tried the multiply option. I'll keep that in mind.
I'm just used to doing a "DIRECT" color onto on layers...
Very rarely do I use layers, unless it's something special...just don't like them for some reason...

*cries* It took me forever to figure out how to do lineart. And now seeing the chaos involved in coloring, I could have never figured it out on my own.
What do all the mode names mean? "Multiply"? That's a freaking math term! How do you make that apply to the drawing world? Add, subtract, those I can understand. But MULTIPLY? IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!
And let's not even go into the STUPIDITY that was involved with me trying to learn how to color, starting with eyes. OMG *stabs self repeatedly*
Might I suggest adding the GIMP to your list of programs? I use it, it's 100% free to download. And you aren't downloading some crappy trial version. I think it's just as good as photoshop.

hhe multiplay is a type of layer... a layer that you put over he original layer to add things on to it...like making it darker... its a multiple layer.

Hmmm... Apparently, transparent layers turn the who layer system upside down X_X That explains a lot of my difficulties. I've been obsessed with using transparent layers since I got the GIMP because I couldn't use trasparency in MSPaint.
