Description
next up: the paws!order is: front paw, hind paw, and wing.
i tend to make the hind paws a bit more blocky than the front.
1. draw up you base structure with simple lines. DO NOT press hard! this will act as 'bones' of sorts.
2. flesh out your limbs if you have it like i do this step. add a little arching line at the ends of the paws.a dragon's wing has a handlike structure to it, so draw it like a hand with huge fingers.
ZOOM IN ON PAWS / WING HAND
3. the 3 finger paw/wing. make the first arching line from a little inside of the leg, and bring it out to make the top of the toe. bring it down in a slant, but keep the angles smooth. then bring the line back, creating a square-ish toe. then bring a line from the end of the curve up to the toe. then add a small line on the other side of the foot to indicate that there is another toe!
also keep the wing in a handlike structure. when you bring the line up to where the arm's line splits into the fingers, make a little bulge to indicate the wrist.
4. the 4 finger paw/wing. make same as the 3 toe, but add an extra toe in front. also another wing finger.
5. and the 5 finger paw/wing. same as the others, but the hind's 5th will be like a dewclaw, off the ground. the front's will be smaller but on the ground. intead of another finger on the wing, i usually add a thumb. though you can add a 5th finger intead of thumb if you want.
6. practice! do a few different poses, and make varitaions of the paws. the hind foot there has elongated toes with webbing- good for water dragons.
also add you claws, spines, stripes, or whatever you come up with!
