In far thrown future, where Animen was a rarity and Man were still commonplace, Nhim Veyas searched far and wide to get a scoop for a national newspaper. He found himself witnessing a metting between mafias at an undisclosed location. Successful in snapping photos telling of the strained exchange, Nhim was spotted by perimeter guards and revealed to the three representatives.

Nhim was evidently found left for dead, bludgeoned, broken, and bleeding when an unknown reported their complaint. Hospitalized, Nhim found themselves on the receiving end again of fortunate hospitality, gaining a pair of cybernetic prosthetic arms to replace his own, which were broken virtually beyond repair.

Still in the hospital, Nhim watched a news report and saw a report regarding ongoing mafia wars. The most recent reporting three representatives of three different mafias having been strewn up dead and presented for all the world to see. Just underneath the three, once familiar corpses, sat a calling card. An insignia of a most infamous mafia.

Nhim had now regained his motivation, wanting the "big scoop". Upon being let out of the hospital, he immediately went home and managed to email the photos taken in his run in with the three mafias. They quickly deployed again out into the world in search for the mob which was responsible.
