As seen in the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated episode "The Siren's Song", where Fred and Daphne visits a museum with various MOTW's they captured, as well as former teammates like Flim Flam.But the biggest surprise is... Scrappy-Doo! Yes, the "Universally Hated Character" is shown in the museum.
And now... the only thing Fred said to Daphne is "We promised they'd never speak of him again... Never!". In other words, Take That, Scrappy!

I enjoyed the movie up til they talked about how they got rid of Scrappy. Not cool.

I love him. And that's why I never watched that stupid live action movie.Β
I get that people found him annoying. But the level of scorn he gets is like totally unwarranted. There are far more annoying dog characters than ScrappyDoo.Β (Whopper from the original Pound Puppies comes to mind.)
But the point is that all the scooby doo characters have some unlikable traits. And yes Scrappy is loud and obnoxious. But he's also kind and empathetic. He has good and bad traits.Β
I just wish newer fans of the show would actually watch the old cartoons before just deciding not to like him due to the depictions in recent years. I mean, he literally is the reason there even still is a show after all. It would have been cancelled if not for Scrappy's addition to the series.

I never hated Scrappy. Or at least I never found him unbearable. Honestly the amount of hate this character gets nowadays is pretty gratuitous imo.

Scrappy was so cute and then in the live action movie it ended with Scrappy being all crazy so yeah! I loved Scrappy, but I was in the era of the original scrappy when he was with Shaggy and Scooby solving crimes, in Ghoul school and it is just wrong to mess with a good character! If it wasn't for Scrappy, What's New Scooby Doo, The DTV films, and Mystery Inc (as well as the upcoming show, Be Cool Scooby Doo) wouldn't exist at all. Apparently Warner Bros. hasn't acknowledged that.

I don't hate or like Scrappy. Sure, he's annoying in episodes, but in the movies (not counting the live action), I like him.
I find other fictional characters more annoying than him. Gotenks from DBZ.

(i actually liked him and never gave him any hate *i don't care if you don't like him i respect your opinion but to me he was actually NOT THAT BAD!!! all the little fellah wanted to do was beat down some monsters but his darn uncle scooby never let him have any fun at all in that * i also found it hilarious when he peed on daph in the 2002 movie adaptation and got a little ticked off every time they through him out the car with his comment "why the heck would you guys throw me out anyways??? ah it's okay i'm cuter than a POWERPUFF GIRL" comes back later with mr. bean trapped inside of his body sucking souls away *okay now there's where they went wrong i.m.o. but still an awesome movie to me though cuzz i own parts 1&2 )Β

Because he's the trope namer for "The Scrappy", for various reasons:
- Ruins the dynamic of the Scooby-Gang.
- He insists to confront the MOTWs (which really are harmless), but his uncle Scooby doesn't permit it.
- He's too annoying.
- And, according to the events of the first Live Action Movie, he tried to take over Mystery Inc. But, fortunately they kicked him. Side-Effect: This event made him the "Big Bad" of the movie.

That scene from the movie was stupid and out of character, felt like a desperate attempt from the screenwriters to win over the hardcore Scooby Doo fans. Quite frankly I find the Scrappy hate more annoying than Scrappy himself.

Err, did I mention Flim Flam from The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo, he was an... Ethnic Scrappy. He was hated due to his brash and abrasive personality, not to mention being a stereotyped minority.

Scrappy was not hated in 13 ghosts, HB created that whole series basically to reclaim scrappy's title by making a worse and more annoying character, flim flam, the creators actually love scrappy and hate flim flam, it's WB's doing that makes those scrappy doo negative cameos to win fans over, btw you listen to the tropes too much, their biased idiots, anyone can do what they do.
I mean, they hate lemongrab from adventure time, they consider him a "scrappy", it's insulting I tell you, and pikachu, now I don't like pokemon at all, but I know that so many people refuse to believe that

that's pretty much what I said, and a "scrappy" is not a correct or official television term, it's a trope term, the official term is cousin oliver, because he came before scrappy, he ruined his show with only 5 episodes to cancelation, but scrappy never got the series canceled, lasted for 10 years, and saved the show first, the term really puts the tropes on the ignorant side

It should change the name for the trope... plus everything with the Scrappy name for the sub-tropes should be changed.
Here's how should be called:
- Universally Hated Character
- Ethnically Disliked
- Disliked Damsel
- Disliked by Tier
- Disliked Replacement
And so on.
Plus, the Scrappy facts are really a subversion to the Trope Namer. He may be the one who continued Scooby-Doo to air, actually, it's the long time Scooby-Doo fans' fault by not recognizing Scrappy's rescuing from his own heap.
P.S.: I got a Real-Life Scrappy on Justin Bieber. Seriously, he sucks.
