Description
A sculpt I completed in Fall 2005 but didn't get around to photographing til now. It's inspired by the Sobek drawing in my gallery (who in turn is my take on the Egyptian crocodile god Sobek or Sebek) though you could consider this is Sobek "nude."He's around 12 inches tall and made of sculpey premo over a wire and foil armature.

I much prefer that kind of rendition of Sobek over the zoomorphic crocodile head on a human.
Great work!

Thanks- I've used stamps on sculpts before but this one all the scales were done individually.

What kind of tools did you use for that, if you don't mind me asking XD

The tools I use kind of look like dental tools, here are similar ones:

I also use stiff bristly paint brushes for texture, bamboo skewers like what you find at the grocery store make good tools too. Usually you can find a lot of great tools from stuff that's just sitting around the house- dried up pens, wire, old toothbrushes all work well.

You're welcome.
If you want to make texture stamps, one way to make them is with mold builder latex (sold at craft type stores.) Stuff like oranges and lemons make good skin texture too.
Looked at your gallery and you have some great stuff! Nice work on the armor and clothing details on your sculpts!

Wheee. GREAT detail, nice work, looks great. But one detail you missed, is that crocodiles or alligators don't have the same kind of skin on their bellies as on the rest of their body. Google for pics, and you'll see. It's hard to explain it in words.
Greets!

That's actually pretty cute! For as monstrous as he seems he's very neat and clean looking, I don't know if that's what you intended. Airbrush just has that tendency. I'd be tempted to "mess" him up a bit.

Thanks, yeah I was going to do some more black washing on him after I airbrushed it, but I liked how some of the soft banding and spotting looked so I stopped before I got it too dark to see.
I was going for stoic/noble moreso than scary monster.

Yeah it is kinda like it in some ways, I've played B&W but did this sculpt about 2 years before I got into the game.

This kicks ass. I'd seriously consider purchasing this if it was mass produced for such.

Thanks! This one's probably too much of a pain to reproduce but I'm hoping to get more into making resin casts of my work in the future.

I'd give anything to be able to sculpt like that, heh. He looks like he came out of a movie or something. =]

Thank you! Hard to believe it's been about a year since I finished him. I am in the midst of a large dragon sculpt now but it has been a bit tedious.
