Description

This is part of the illustration I did for my submission to the Talenthouse Godzilla poster competition. Unfortunately I found out about the competition less than a week before the deadline so I had to rush it, but afterwards I decided to refine it a bit. The final piece has both Godzilla and Ghidorah. This is Godzilla by himself, I'm planning on refining Ghidorah as well. Ghidorah needs a lot more work, only spent about 3 hours on him so that will take a lot more time to finish. I wish I had more time to work on them before the deadline but I feel good about busting out my submission in 4 days. I drew this in my sketchbook, scanned it in and colored in Photoshop.

I am stoked about seeing Godzilla King of the Monsters! I love the designs of the monsters, I feel like the only things I would have changed on the 2014 Godzilla were the feet and the back fins, and the improvements they made with 2019 Godzilla are perfect. I love the craggier back spines. Ghidorah is beautiful, Rodan looks great and while I don't like bugs that much, Mothra looks great too, looks more capable of a throwdown.
