Digi hesitated in his sleep. He fidgeted continuously, twisting and turning rapidly as he heavily breathed. Tekz awoke with a start and pounced off the bed as if she knew the events to follow, She walked over to her own bed and watched her owner with cautious eyes. Digi screamed with fear as he suddenly woke up ,Thrusting his head and chest upright. His breathing was deep and panicked as he looked around the darkened room. He was still In the spare room in Bubbles house. He was safe but his actions surely didn`t show any evidence of safety. Digi brought his knees to his chest and began to softly cry. It had happened again! He had fallen victim to his mind! After a few moments Digi looked up slightly; Although his vision was blurred from the streams of tears in his eyes he could still make out someone’s feet standing at the rooms entrance. Still weeping silently, Digi picked up his head and surveyed the silhouette of the figure leaning in the door, It was way too dark to know by face. Looking at the figures overly height-extended head Digi finally worked out the identity of his watcher.
“G…Gloyd? Is that you” Digi spoke. His voice was shattered and wobbly, His sentence would be cut off every now and then by a deep breath or snivel. The shadowy figure made a gesture with their head which Digi instantly registered as a nod. ”W..what are you doing here? I..isn`t your h..home back in sugar rush?” Digi asked . Gloyd hushed him “Please quieten down!” He wisped “ I sneaked out to see Sparkz but I heard you scream and shout! Are you ok Didg?”. Digi snivelled again as he lowered his legs back down onto the mattress “ I…I’m fine” He lied. Gloyd walked into the room and sat on Digi`s bed. “I know your lying! I can feel it! Now what`s happened to get you so scared” He spoke calmly. Digi didn`t know why but at that moment he just broke down and told Gloyd everything. He laid himself at an angle, softly laying his head on the back wall “I had this nightmare where I had a different kart ; `The speedy-twist !` It was a pedal powered kart” He explained. In the extreme blackness, Gloyd`s face dropped to a frown, He knew where this was going. Digi continued “All the Heroes were there too! But they hated me again! They destroyed the speedy-twist and bullied me. I felt so alone, So scared…So …Angry!”. Gloyd calmly hushed him again. “Hey don`t worry about it. Like you said, In your `nightmare` You had a different kart that you can never remember having! That’s because that’s all it was.. a nightmare” .Gloyd was lying to Digi, But unlike Digi ,Gloyd had practised lying and had mastered hiding the truth!.
Digi spoke over Gloyd “ No… It felt so real…as if I`ve gone through it! I could feel it when I hit the ground! It was like a memory! But that’s not possible, Its nothing but a dream” Digi moved down and plonked his head on the pillow once more. Gloyd searched around with his hand in the dark and on finding Digi`s hair he ruffled it. Digi actually found it quite relaxing when someone ruffled or messed around with his hair, He never minded It being messy after. But how did Gloyd know? Digi had not told anyone… Unless he worked it out himself. After one final calming hush , Gloyd got back up and went to leave, Stroking Tekz on the way. Her markings glowed with the pleasant enjoyment of being stroked by the sugary pumpkin racer. As Gloyd was about to re-enter the hall, Digi lazily spoke to him. “ Go downstairs one level, Third door on the left!”,Followed up by a yawn. Gloyd nodded and snuck off. Digi fell back to sleep. The nightmare didn’t return that night!
