Digi yawned and wiped his eyes, he could hear a constant bleeping from his desk. Then remembering the newest configuration on his digital calendar, One that tells him when races are, He jumped up and out of bed and grabbed it. He looked long and hard at today’s date. Neatly marked under it was `Royal racing grand prix`. Digi grinned happily. `Hell yeah` Digi thought to himself. The RRGP was a specialised race that was held once every year when Vanellope needed a break. It was a race open to all sugar rush and Digi hero racers. The prize from the race beat any prize from other races, The winner gets to be recoded as the ruler of sugar rush for a whole week! Boy did Digi want that, To know what it was like to be in charge! But first he would have to make a quick pit stop at his rivals place. It was early and Digi just wanted to annoy Swizzle. They had become rivals a while back and now they almost depended on each other to provide a challenge on the track! Digi quickly got changed, eat breakfast and zipped out the door, the earlier he left the better! He jumped into his kart and whistled. Tekz slowly came out yawning. She wasn`t very happy at the early hours but still had enough energy to jump into the back of the kart, where she fell back to sleep. Digi quickly drove off.
Digi arrived at his destination and knocked loudly on Swizzles door “OI SWIZZ BUTT! Big race today “He laughed, “Expect to be beaten”. Swizzle opened the door looking grouchy. It was so early that he was still in his night-clothes. He angrily scorned Digi “For fudge sake Digi! the sun hasn't been up that long!” Digi laughed noisily. Too loud, Swizzle covered his ears .“Well being annoying is what rivals do “Digi spoke. Then he remembered why he was there ,“Are you ready to race later? I hear Sparkz and Gloyd are racing as they do so looks like we`ve got competition!” Sparkz and Gloyd were good friends who were also natural racers to the game. Swizzle closed the door to and spoke to Digi from the other side “Ok, In a sec, I have to get changed first”. Swizzle left into his room. Digi stared down the hall and saw movement that was defiantly not Swizzle. Silently he was panicking.”Swizz? I think you may have a shadow! Or a burglar!”Digi spoke loudly sounding concerned. Swizzle re-appeared looking un happy “ oh that’s not a burglar you idiot! and its not a shadow either!”.He seemed insulted but Digi could understand why! Digi felt confused “Then who…” Then he saw him. A young Digi hero standing behind Swizzle, pale skinned wearing dark clothes. For a while didn`t know whether to be insulted or amazed! “Whats wrong?” Swizzle asked feeling slightly worried himself now. The kid just stared at Digi afraid like a puppy away from its mother! Digi stepped closer and observed the new hero ” Kid... Do you know Alice Cees? Cuz you remind me of her...wait...”He Looked closer. “Claws... nose...”He listed “Your A SUGAR HERO! Oh my gawsh! saweet!“. He turned to swizzle and spoke sounding insulted “Your not replacing me are ya as your rival” He joked laughing. Swizzle snapped angrily at digi, Of the two he was the strict one “no stupid!”He insulted “Lico blackness here is from sour-zest island! his family treated him like dirt so he ran away to sugar rush”. From behind Swizzle the young child spoke, slowly and quietly “who's 'Alice Cees'?”He cautiously asked. Digi had to change subject, fast. “Never mind “He chuckled “So your names Lico then?”He asked holding out his hand for a hand shake. “Names Digi-Tal Teku, But you can just call me Digi” He flashed his fangs in a polite and friendly smile. Lico just hid further back. The fangs seemed to frighten him! Swizzle scratched his back with embarrassment “yeah...ugh...he's very shy” He admitted
“Thats fine.”Digi replied “ Lico? Its fine bud. Im Swizzles Rival. I wont hurt`cha. And i guess i could sorta link on the `not wanted at first` aspect of life”, He further introduced himself with a shrug. Lico shivered and again Swizzle answered for him “ he doesn't seem to be use to talking to people...”. Digi cooked up a plan in his mind of how he may be able to become better friends with the new comer “Mmm If what you say is true.. its understandable. Anyone who gets treated that bad may find them selves too scared to talk.. Hey Lico... quick question, You wanna race? Im sure Swizzle wouldn’t mind.”. He ended his invite with a laugh.. Lico looked back at Digi from between the lollipop racers legs “what’s 'racing'?”Swizzle quietened his voice as he whispered to Digi “bad idea! bad idea!”He warned “he's only been alive for 4 months he tells me!” `Geeze now that was young` Digi thought scratching the back of his head, feeling awkward . He chuckled “Oh heh never mind”. The swizzle pounded a closed fist into his other open hand as he remembered, “shiz I just remembered! my parents are out! who's gonna watch lico while im gone!?”. Now that was a problem! It would mean Swizzle couldn`t race but he had waited months for this race. Digi felt sorry and even asked if he could help. But by the way Lico just grabbed onto Swizzle when the idea was brought up it was obviously not happening! Swizzles leg began to bleed. “ooww....lico....could you please....” Swizzle asked politely and swizzle acknowledged. Digi chuckled, Boy this kid trusted swizzle! “cant I come and watch you race?”Lico asked cutely as he tugged on swizzle's jacket. Swizzle looked back at the kid and bit his lip,” geez....I don't know...”.Digi liked the idea and supported it stating “ I guess that means he`ll get to see you in action, I suppose you watched the racing on TV if you knew Rancis then? He told me don`t worry. You might not recognize me off there though I don’t always race but i try to as much as possible! “ He stepped into a clearer light hoping Lico would know who he was but alas he did not. Realizing that, Digi`s spirit drooped slightly. Swizzle stopped Digi in his tracks ,”but if he comes! he'll easily get scared by the engines going off when the race starts!”. Digi could see this so inquired about how Lico watched it on TV and then if Swizzle had any earplugs. Then remembering the ear plugs in his kart digi went to fetch them. To find them Digi had to rudely awaken Tekz and shove her out. Bewildered by the new Sugar hero, Tekz walked over and began sniffing at Lico. She hoped that by making her fur coat shine he would feel comfortable with it but instead he panicked like crazy . “AAAHHH AHHH!!!”Lico screamed with fear “GET THE FOX AWAY FROM ME!!!!” He dug his claws deep into swizzle making him bleed and scream with pain!. Digi quickly told Tekz off, and she retreated. Digi fetched his medical kit and bandaged up Swizzles leg.
Lico let go and ran inside crying, Swizzle quickly followed. Digi stood at the door listening. He didn`t really want to get involved this time around, It was only when Digi heard the word `Knife`. That Digi dashed to the kitchen! Swizzle was standing in the middle of the room pointing a knife at his throat! “Stay away” He warned. Swizzle stood by Digi simply repeating the phrase “Oh gob!”. Digi very slowly approached then stopped. He spoke calmly” Lico... Don’t make me strike you... I don`t want to ... TEKZ NOW”. He suddenly shouted as he ducked down. Tekz jumped from behind and over Digi. She pounced into Lico and knocked him down causing him to let go of the knife. Grabbing the knife safely in her teeth, She ran back behind Digi. Crisis adverted!
Lico sat up and began to cry, He snivelled as he spoke, just like how Digi used to.” im sorry.....I just think that everything I do is bad!”Swizzle comforted the sugar hero with a hug “ oh Lico.... don't act like your some kind of mistake!!”Lico hid his face into swizzle's chest as he continued to speak “Im so sorry....”.Swizzle started crying “I know you are...”He warmly whispered. Seeing this brought a tear to even Digi’s eye. The two were like him and Gloyd before they found out they were Bros… Maybe?.... Nahhhhh… Digi convinced himself. Swizzle looked up at his rival, not letting go of the young child “Digi, could you go tell everyone else Im not coming to race today? Lico looks like he needs someone to talk to right now....”. Digi nodded and left. He patted his leg and Tekz joined his side. He jumped into his kart joined by his pet and then they both drove of to the race!. Digi was slightly sad he wouldn`t have his rival to challenge but he guessed the other 30 odd racers would have to do. He smiled as he approached the event. He was ready for this!
