Niiiiice improvement! Your lines are a lot smoother and your proportions are VERY nicely balanced out! The mouth is a little off of where it should be and the nose could be a bit more prominent, but that's a minor complaint and frankly, I constantly redraw mouths and eyes and expressions before being happy with them.(I photoshop my scans to make the redraws less apparent) This might be helpful www.howtodrawmanga.com/pages/tβ¦
Β Also, whatever you did to take this picture is infinitely better than what you were doing before. Do you trace over your pencil sketches with pen? You might want to invest in some good pens like these- Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens
In the end, any decent pen will do, I'm just suggesting these ones because they're artist quality, don't fade a lot, and don't smudge. You said you want to be a cartoonist, so it might be worth looking into. Alternatively, you have a tablet and Paint Tool SAI, right? You can trace the lines in SAI to make them crisper. Alternatively alternatively, you can clean it up in GIMP, Photoshop, or SAI. Obviously Photoshop is the best for that, but it's really just a matter of cropping, increasing brightness, and increasing contrast levels. Here's a tutorial on that- www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsKQKzβ¦
It's using photoshop, but you can do about the same thing in Paint Tool SAI. Also, you don't really need to do the select by colour thing since you aren't colouring it in, so after adjusting contrast and brightness, you can duplicate the layer and set it to multiply, which will make it more prominent.

I was thinking of specialising in traditional media since i can draw good-ish on paper but whenever i try using my tablet It goes completely wrong and my hand becomes less stable, I can`t even draw an oval that well using my tablet... Plus when we were being taught Photoshop for I media; I kept getting sent out for doing stuff while i was waiting for the teacher to come and answer my questions

It takes a lot of practice(I was using mine for three or so days straight before getting a decent hang of it) and a good tablet. What kind do you have? Wacom tablets are usually the most reliable. Have you considered trying the vector pen tool in Photoshop? You don't need a tablet for that and it makes the cleanest, smoothest lines possible.
You can teach yourself photoshop with a trip to the library and some googling an watching of speedpaints. I never hadΒ class in it.

There's a freeware photoshop dupe called GIMP. Sai and Photoshop are both good programs, but in the end, Photoshop is way, WAY more powerful. It just depends on what you need it for.
That tablet should be reliable. You probably just need to practice. When you get older and become an artist, you would probably want a Wacom Cintique tablet since it is an LCD screen tablet that lets you draw right onto it(like an iPad)

Hence why I said when you're older... its freaking expensive too! There are smaller versions too, but that's probably your ideal tablet.
