The day started like any other. Digi woke up at his own pace next to his wife, Bubble. She had moved in with him a while back just before they had got married. He yawned and elevated himself onto one arm. Bubble reacted and slowly she awoke. “Morning “Digi playfully spoke to her. She smiled back and watched as Digi got up and stretched. They were now too old to race in the game so had more carefree lives. “So waddya wanna do today?”Digi asked. Bubble didn`t reply. She just began to get up, planning to reply when she stood. She was about to stand when a over-whelming pain hit her. She let out a yelp of pain then seemed to blank out , she began to fall. Digi quickly turned and jumped onto the bed in order to catch her. He pushed himself across the bed to slowly and gently place her down. He then shuffled himself off the bed and walked around next to her. He picked her up in a wedding style and felt her forehead. She seemed to fine temperature wise so what was going on with her? He carried her to his kart, which he still drove. He buckled her into the passenger seat and drove to the hospital.
Bubble woke up in a hospital bed. Digi signed with relief after she came back and walked over next to her. She took his hand and she ,shakily, got up and stood. He hugged her tightly. The nurse walked in, with the result board tucked under her arms which were crossed. Digi released his wife and turned to her .He looked worried as he spoke to her “So doc? Is my wife ok? Its not some kind of long-lasting cancer, is it? Oh dear god”. He had jumped to this conclusion and seemed to be quite panicked over it. The nurse sighed at Digi`s over-acting as it was so un-necessary. “Mr and Mrs Teku. Its not cancer…” She informed them both. They sighed with relief. “…Congratulations!” . The look of shock on both Bubble and Digi`s face was priceless as shock over came them. Digi was the only one to instaniously speak “What~”. Bubble seemed to stumble with shock, she grabbed Digi’s hand and held it tightly. Finally her words came to her, “You mean…”. The nurse replied with a nod, “You are going to be a mother Mrs Teku!”. Bubble wobbled backwards, pulling Digi with her. She sat down on the visitor stool and began heavy breathing. Digi saw that his wife was not taking this in the exact best way so kneeled down in front of her and spoke, aiming to calm her down. “Whoa babe, There`s nothing to fear. I may not be the best with children personally but ,you, are going to make the best mother for this child and I`ll be learning from you” Bubble replied between her heavy breathing, doubting herself, “You…You really think so?”. Digi chuckled “Think?... I know so!”,. She fell deliberately into his arms. “Trust me, I`ll always be here for you” Digi promised.
Months passed and as it became more obvious that Bubble was pregnant; She gained the baby weight; Morning sickness was a usual occurrence; The price for food went up as Bubble became addicted to certain foods which luckily Digi was able to pay for; One of the spare rooms was converted to a nursery and all the baby equipment was brought. It wasn`t long into the pregnancy that everyone found out. The girls would come over every now and then with their husband and comfort Bubble about how much relief she would feel after giving birth and the guys would talk to Digi about how much experience it is being a father, which normally got sidetracked somehow to unrelated issues! On this specific day ,a couple months after the information was given to the pair, Digi was downstairs working on his kart listening to `Muse- panic station` on his small radio when he swore he could hear screaming. He turned down the radio and heard Bubble screaming for him from their room. He swore to himself as he wiped oil from his hands and ran upstairs. Bubble looked to be in immense pain, she screamed at him “Digi, Digi! Its happening!” Digi dashed and picked up the phone and called the ambulance service. He talked over the phone “Hello! My wife`s having our child! What? How far in is she? Ummm…. I don`t know she’s in immense pain! What do you mean Its best I don`t move her then?!?! Im not gonna have to deliver our baby am i? Oh, Your sending a nurse over asap! Ok thanks bye”. Digi then called Gloyd and Rancis, Two of his best friends since Crona was probably busy. The two sugar rush racers had asked him to tell them when she went into labour. Then under Bubble`s request he also called Boiler as he was family after all. Digi stayed and comforted his wife until the nurse arrived, with every one else who was called.
Boiler, Gloyd and Rancis sat on the front room sofa and watched as Digi endlessly paced back and forth. After a while Gloyd spoke up, “Digd Bro! Sit down It`ll be ok, I swear to god. Just calm down.” The guys stayed downstairs while the girls were in the room with Bubble and the nurse. They had left their children for Spirit to babysit, and boy she was not happy about it! For some reason the nurse said she had trouble delivering a child if there was a guy in the room so they had to wait downstairs. From the front room Digi could here his wife screaming with pain and it really scared him. He continued pacing as if he had ignored his brother. Now it was Rancis` turn to speak, He had been the first of the group to have a child so thought he could do better but still it seemed as if Digi had ignored him. Digi just continued pacing back and forth, twiddling his thumb claws. Boiler took a direct approach. He got up and stopped Digi and violently shook him by the shoulders, Some things never changed.”Have confidence in my sis! Yeah? I grew up with her until you took her, You got me? Bubble is a strong girl and she`ll be fine!” Boiler promised. The direct approach seemed to worked as Digi stopped pacing. He silently nodded at him then turned to face up where the bedroom was positioned. The screaming had stopped. Digi wiped his face muttering “Oh no”, He was thinking the worst had happened. The guys followed the sounds as someone left the bedroom and walked downstairs. Sparkz emerged in the door, looking happy as usual. This was enough to eliminate any bad Idea Digi had, “So…” He began to try to start a conversation. Sparkz happily replied “Digi? You might wanna go to her!”. Digi ran out of the room and dashed up the stairs. He crashed into the room. His wife smiled at him, finding it amusing. She looked extremely tired and sweaty from effort. Razor was sitting by her side holding one of her hands, Razor smiled at Digi and gave him a slight head nod. Digi approached his wife and sat beside her. He kissed her forehead and took hold of her other hand. She tried to move but giving birth had provided her with little strength so Digi wiped her forehead for her. The guys entered the room and stood by the door. Sparkz pushed her way through. The nurse, who had been at a special medical table during this time, turned to Bubble. She walked over next to her holding a rolled up blanket and passed it over “Mr and Mrs Teku. Congratulations, It’s a girl” Bubble lifted the blanket from the baby`s head so Digi and everyone could see the child, who was comfortably wrapped up. Bubble held her new child close to her chest and Digi kissed her again and smiled at his daughter. “So….any names planned?” Sparkz broke the moment! Bubble ,now able to speak after recovering slightly replied, “I was thinking… of calling her…Glitch!” Digi gave her the `huh?` look, ”Glitch?” He inquired. Bubble looked at her husband and smiled “Yeah you know” She glitched up a very small amount for a brief second, “Something we also both have” She giggled. Digi forced himself to glitch also for a brief second and smiled back. Digi laid down next to his exhausted wife and she snuggled her head up against his chest. Glitch fell asleep on her mothers chest. Digi placed his arm over his wife and daughter as everyone congratulated Bubble and Digi on their latest addition. Digi looked down at glitch and grinned happily, wondering what kind of child she may grow up to be?...
