“Hello, hello” Vanellope announced over the mic. Her voice echoed through the castle loudly and clearly “And a warm welcome to the Royal Race Grand Prix!” As she spoke confetti exploded into the sky from hidden party poppers in the stage. Some of the racers jumped as the sound of an explosion rattled through the speakers. Digi watched in awe, he admired how into her job Vanellope was. He had heard from Crona of how she had put in all her effort to making this the best race yet! He smiled and clapped with amusement as Vanellope continued talking, “For thoughs who are new to this such as our special guests, The Digi heroes…” A spotlight shone down in Digi`s direction. For the first time as he looked around Digi realized that the group surrounding him was only Digi heroes… and Gloyd, who swiftly moved out of the light. For a few moments the rest of the crowd clapped and cheered for the heroes until the light faded. Then all attention went back to the president who had waited patiently for her subjects. “…The Royal Race Grand Prix or, RRGP for short, is a unique race held every year where racers from all over compete for the ultimate prize”. There was a drum roll and tension built up in the atmosphere. Vanellope jumped into the air with a twirl and spoke excitedly as she landed “Being Recoded as the Ruler of Sugar rush for a week!” The cheering returned louder than ever. The noise level went through the roof as Vanellope’s voice vanished , even with the speakers! Crona stepped out from behind the shadows and up to the microphone. He whistled noisily directly into the mic and the most painful screech roared through the speakers. Everyone covered their ears as their ears rang, Even Crona felt dizzy from his own actions. He didn’t want to admit it but he felt foolish! There was a moment of silence as everyone recovered from the constant sharp ringing.
Vanellope re-took the microphone after giving her boyfriend a quick slap on the back of the head, which hurt him a lot but made Digi chuckle. “Ok, Time for the Rules.”She announced pulling out a set of cards which barely fit in her hand. The crowd moaned, Rules always made the races lack in action. Vanellope looked down at her cards and cleared her throat. “One! Racers must only use kart-equipt weaponry, No blasters or knives that are hand held! Two, No royal shall race. So that means Me and MotorBrain can`t enter…”. Digi sighed, He couldn`t face swizzle and now Crona was out too! This was just getting too easy! Vanellope continued her explanation, “There will be multiple races held over the next few days and it will be televised all over the arcade so can we all please keep language clean! The way to get through to the final is simple! Win Races!” She giggled, excitement had overcome her and she could help but giggle a lot. The sugar racers Shouted out in unison “HOW WILL WE KNOW WHOS RACING”. Digi was taken by surprise by this as it was unexpected. By the way they were all talking as one Digi presumed this was like some kind of ancient tradition but frankly couldn`t really care. Vanellope picked up the mic and budged over sideways revealing a set of curtains behind her. The golden wrapper that held them closed retreated off to the sides and the curtains fell. Behind was a Chocolate rimmed big screen. Digi was amused, She really had gone all out this time! “With this!”Vanellope answered her racers as she presented the screen. One by one a picture of every racer would appear and levitate downwards into a virtual cotton candy maker styled machine. It made a buzzing noise as if it was real that was also quite soothing. Digi closed his eyes for a few brief moments before he felt someone nudge him again. He lazily opened his eyes, It was his brother. Gloyd was pointing slightly at something, Digi looked to where Gloyd was pointing and stiffened his posture. They were already streaming! Crud, Did Digi just get caught looking as if he was asleep! Opps. For the next few moments the virtual machine buzzed away as it mixed up the racers and tracks. During this time Digi found himself quietly whispering and making gestures to his pals encouraging them or taunting them for fun which they returned the gestures to. At their homes the non-racing characters hunched over watching the screen of their televisions. There was a loud jingle and Vanellope spoke again, “ And the roster looks like…. This!” Everyone’s eyes scanned over the screen looking for where they were! Digi found himself on the screen, He frowned slightly. He wasn`t racing against any of his best friends but he was part of the first race at least! Digi took notes of his races place and time and then began to leave with the rest of the audience. He wished his pals good luck and thanked anyone who wished him good luck. Once again he was shunted as the Blackness Trio pushed past, They laughed sourly and once again Digi found himself listening in. This time it was more difficult to catch everything but some words stood out. There was one specific word he heard but couldn`t understand. The three passed on looks to each other murmuring, “Liquoresh!”. Digi watched with concern as they faded across the horizon. A hand came down on his shoulder. “Don’t worry about them” Sparkz happily spoke to Digi, “If I go against any of `em. There is no way I will let them win!” Digi nodded and Sparkz left with Gloyd. Digi was slightly more relaxed but concern still ran through his mind. He shook his head, His race was in a little while. He needed to focus so he could face off against Sparkz and Gloyd in the final! He smiled at the thought and walked off to his kart.
