Are the nacelles your own design? if so they are quite spectacular, just what you'd imagine this second generation ship to utilise.

Design wise they're based on several examples:
First, is a model of a Daedalus Class vessel that appeared in Sisko's Office on DS9. That model, built by Greg Jein used space shuttle SRBs as the base body for the nacelles.
Second, the domes are based off the NX-01 nacelles, I loved them on the USS Phoenix, with the spikes added for continuity with Capt. April's and Pike's Enterprise.
Last, the cowls. I always thought that should be something that they were surrounding, not just a shape. I was influenced by Deg3D's TOS .5 Enterprise as to what to put in there, his is much cooler.
As to the technical details for these engines:
They're more powerful, being the Next Generation of Warp 5+ Engines, and as such required the separate Engineering Hull.
They don't use Dilithium Crystals to focus the energy of the matter/antimatter annihilation, that came later on during the time of Captain April. They are probably capable of Warp Factor 6-7.
As to how they work... you've got me there.
But hell it's lots of fun!

Thanks!
I had to take a break from the G, so I went back to the Star Trek models I've been working on (slowly).
