Description
Spring DaffodilsThis was exhibited in the 23rd annual Squires Kitchen International Exhibition.
It was inspired by a vase I saw in the shop in Longleat.
It was meant to be a 100% edible design so there are no wires or inedibles on the cake etc
This was a display cake, so no cake inside.
**Edit**
There will be a "how to" article on this cake in the spring 2010 issue of "Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine" published by Squires Kitchen

How did you get the butterflies to stick if there's no wire? They're beautiful, btw. Are they made of royal icing?

Glad you like it.
The butterflies were made from flowerpaste, dried in a former to hold the shape, then fixed with a trail of royal icing on the body.
