Description
Note: I was not going for a Railway Series-esque design, nor did I even use RWS-references while drawing this interpretation of the character in mind. The overall intention was to make the character resemble a model that at least looks somewhat more convincing than the average toy.I bear in mind that Gordon must look convincing to an extent, yet at the same time the design should not deviate too much from the traditional Gordon-model.
I had to simplify the rod-detail overlaying the wheels, and decrease some spaces in-between. I’ve made Gordon’s blue more of a royal-shade, because it overall felt very fitting for the character. The smooth, wavy textures also give off a representation of what he’s mostly designed for: Speed, grace and power.
Title(s): Rolling Thunder”, “One of Regality”, ”Grand Pacific”
Height: 20 ft
Length: 70 ft
Weight: 100 tons
Top Speed: 100mph
Aggression: Moderate
Signature Ability: Extreme Strength + Volume Intensity Control
Background:
An A0 “Pacific”-class locomotive from the London & North Eastern Railway, Gordon was sent to Sodor primarily for express-duties along its mainline, and his appearance alone easily struck the eyes of passengers and enthusiasts as highly dignified and respectable.
Indeed, he found plenty of joy with his own job, though it was hardly said the same when initiating conversations with other engines, usually ones smaller than himself.
Gordon would display aggression towards Edward and Thomas among the others (most often around the 1920’s-30’s), although in present time, the three are at the very least, neutral towards one another. For Sir Topham Hatt especially, the case seemed odd, considering, Gordon would get along fine with James and Henry. His usually-hidden sense of insecurity became much more prominent when tasked with smaller duties such as shunting. With some stubborn sulking in the sheds, the “big engines trio” stayed on an infamous strike whereas Edward, Thomas and Percy carried on with their work, respectively.
After a particular night where the spread of an eerie chemical was running rampant among the railway, workman were becoming increasingly cautious towards the engines, as they discovered something was wrong.
While many other engines became aware of themselves experiencing side-effects such as pulling heavy loads with relative ease with little need for double-heading (for instance), Gordon himself remained highly ignorant of the situation until he ended up forced into shunting for once. At that moment, he reportedly destroyed several trucks on accident, leaving a mess of wood and scraps at Tidmouth’s yard.
As Gordon had more bouts of irritation, his own voice became a source of intimidation for humans and some engines, as well — in which his crew had to constantly deal with their engine’s struggle of controlling his tone and volume.
When several months passed, Gordon become noticeably more quiet (and less social), which was very much seen as somewhat fortunate by his crew, though less so by many other engines. On occasions when he didn’t need to work at all, he would preferably relax in a shed with few disruptions.
Personality:
As a typically bold-faced, regally-designed locomotive, Gordon can be easily perceived as one who seems legible to hold a title such as “king of the engines”. He’s often (unsurprisingly) expected to wear an expression either very dignified or comically displeased.
His grand exterior hides a temperament that is choleric and demanding; something that is expressed more often towards other engines than humans, and therefore it is a greater concern for him when the minimal ability to control his tone & volume are considered. Thus, it’s quite easy to expect others to either stay away or tell him to shut his mouth.
In spite of the prideful and irritable sides of his behavior, Gordon is highly protective of his kind, deep down. Simply, when Sodor’s main fleet and their allies need maximum strength, he is the go-to locomotive.

Maybe. Do have some plans for that, but it’ll take some time to come into form.
