Mechanical doppelgänger concept — which is Sodor Monsterverse’s interpretation of an unnamed blue engine from a 1953 book titled The Little Blue Engine That Wanted A Drink. The titular engine in question had a very strong likeness to it the Edward that we know in Thomas & Friends.The odd funny thing is that I have technically made a robotic version of Edward as an experimental doodle far before even knowing that this rip-off book was a thing that existed.
