Description
A likely alternative species descended from the Spinosaurs (no direct descendant of spinosaurus) where the male is fully aquatic, while the female is amphibious. The reason? As archosaurs, they are even forced to lay eggs, as they are unable to evolve a vivipara, these dinosaurs have developed a sexual dimorphism where females are smaller than males, even possess several characteristics of their semi-terrestrial ancestors, allowing them to return to land, clumsily, but efficient.Related content

I'm assuming that this thing would be humoungous? Being that it's essentially an achosaur whale?
That would be scary to encounter.

honestly I think it would have kept the front limbs as they were clearly important to spinosaurus since they were among the largest of any dinosaur arms perhaps there back legs would be slightly more paddle like with the hind limbs of females more resembling there ancestral legs than males since only females would need to leave the water.

In addition there dinosaurs arms relatively longer, like Deinocheirus. In the case of this spinosaur what I created, these spinos are based more on capturing prey with the jaw, so, become obsolete arms for hunting, and the arms are become into fins to propel the animal. But the idea that you mentioned would work too.

Pelagornis has humongous arms compared to it's body. you should probably mention that.

no. i'm not salty. I was just making a statement. however, Pelagonis did have absurdly humongous arms, maybe the largest arm-to-body ratio of any animal.

yeah I do think they were for catching prey big fish like mawsonia and onchopristis would be a lot easier to take down with a little extra grip spino ate fish anywhere from the size of a Volkswagen beetle to the size of the shark from jaws not salmon a little extra grip always comes in handy but then again maybe a stronger neck would do just as good.

You could take it further and give the adult males completely atrophied back legs, that haven't grown at all since the animal was born.

Why are they unable to evolve viviparism? I heard of that earlier, but I don't know why

is that archosaurs, require the calcium from their eggshells during development, which is why they would never develop viviparity.

well lots of fish like sardines are especially high in calcium, so maybe a large amount of calcium consumed goes to helping the fetus develop.

I see. As long as they don't find another way to provide their offspring with calcium, I suggest.

I tried something like this as a sketch, but I had them keep their claws.

I Just thought the same things about adding the claws, but as I wanted them to be fully aquatic, so I remove them

I thought up an idea where their legs become their main fins, like birds that swim, and their arms are free to be claws. Also, I only meant me making them more aquatic.

I like it. In that last part; they come to land to lay eggs like plesiosaurs?

actually plesiosaurs gave birth, do not lay eggs on land. anyway, if you want a better analogy, uses turtles
