Earlier this week I found out about that a digital 3D Sue mount from the Field Museum was released a while ago,Β I had seen some photos of this particular model in other places and I was curious about the exaggeratedly large chest with the gastralia and scapulas quite down (probably the result of digitally assembling it part by part, since it was not scanned from the current physical mount,Β the original does not look the same as that 3D model )Since I had a new reconstruction of this specimen (which is behind for comparison) it occurred to me to edit it a bit and add the proportions plus the crouched posture and this came out as a result

Pretty sure that's physically impossible that it would make the species a dead-end. Also, the dorsum probably had feathers.

No, this posture in the mount (from the original which was traslated to the digital model) was due to the available space of the exhibition which had a fairly low ceiling so it could not be put so upright

It's very likely that 3d model simply has the scapula being placed inaccurately onto the skeleton. If you look at the model from the front view, you can see the rips are misplaced as well. It's better to use the mounted specimen as references.
Not to mention, in general this would make the animal way too front heavy, something that a bipedal animal about this size shouldn't allow to happen.

Yeah, I remember some people on twitter pointed the scapula and the whole chest being deformed. I find a little weird for the off and badΒ proportionatedΒ it looks and what it seems how nobody tried to point it out or even fix it before release it.Β
