Description
Aleu's probably talking about how Muk and Luk got spooked by a strange noise in the forest... ultimately to find out it was just a mischievous marten, which Aleu had briefly befriended. Come to find out, it only wanted a morsel of the fish which the young polar bears snatched from the river. Quite a chattery critter, though Balto supposed it lacked the stamina to hold casual conversation, considering Aleu spent the half a day's trek back home jabbering on about her woodland adventures while it lasted a fourth of the conversation with her.

"He was scared of me at first." Aleu said thoughtfully. "Like I was some scary animal out to eat him!"

"Well," Balto slowly drew out, and then continued, "He just didn't know you. I'm sure he'll tell his friends that you're all right."

Aleu seemed to brighten up at this. "Yeah! I mean, I would never eat another animal! Like, why would I eat him? I get all the food I want at town, so I have no reason to... kill something."

He nodded. "That's the good thing about Nome. There's never a day you go hungry... At least, if you know where to look."

Just some father-daughter shenanigans. It's nice to see some interaction, we didn't get many chances with that in the movie. Like... Yeah, he babied her and basically loomed over her shoulder at every waking moment but gosh, let the kid live a little. I like to think he knows she's just got a lot of energy. At this point, she's probably been through a home or two, and when neither of them have worked out, she sticks around with her dad for a while before finding a new home. This happened off and on during her first year.
