Yaaaaay. Behold art from last school year that I didn't get around to posting until the year after! Woooo! But it did get inked over the summer so I guess it's hunky-dory.Working on coloring this baby in two actual cicada color schemes (black with redyellow and green with brown and black detail) when I get my tablet back.
Major props to Danny (~Itzcoatl34 ) for giving me the wyvern-esque idea as opposed to a dragon dragon. I had tried fiddling with the concept body earlier to no avail. Finally came out proper now!

TIP:
If you see a bunch of cicadas and you really love insects, move close to the group of bugs and click your fingers. If you do that they will probably swarm all over you. This is because the female cicada makes this noise and all the males make the irritating, defeaning hum that you hear, to find a mate.
Trust me, it works. I've done it myself and I could basically command the bugs to go wherever I wanted by clicking my fingers.

This has got to be the greatest chimera of a dragon and an insect ever made.
Multiple arms are a must with bugs and the head is like a peanut butter meets chocolate type moment. Cicadas and wyverns to good things to are WIN together.
That and I concur with your friend. Wyverns definitely need more love. European dragons always try to outshine them.

My friend was VITAL in getting this picture finished. The concept floated around in class for a bit until finally getting the picture it deserved! And now that I've got my tablet back you'll hopefully see a nice digital color version of a few common color patterns...
Yeah. I'm guilty of not giving the lesser known flying reptiles enough love. But I shall work to change my ways!

It's based off a bug. It CAN'T not have lots of little legs if it's based off a bug. That would be SHAMEFUL.
