That's what I said when I started drawing dragons. Truly, it's practice, both with the pencil and your mind. You have to train your eye to see what can work and what cannot.

That would be great. I allways wanted to make a scary dragon but couldn't get it right. My mon could draw really pretty dragons, and I'm like how do you do that.

Great work! But why a cape? People were capes to make themselfs look cooler, but Dragons dont need to look any cooler!
