How do you make GIFs with pixel art? It looks very cool!

I use photoshop cs6 portable to animate mine, but there are some apps you can use online that will let you make gifs. I've used this one before: gifmaker.me/ As for how I actually do the animation, I just chop the picture up into parts and slide them up, down, or in any other direction as needed. Like in this one, the hair, head+body, eyes, bangs, and bust are all their own pieces :>
