Description ...... The Arishok in Dragon Age 2. I.. Just... I don't even... Just... DAYM. YOU SEXY BEAST.

Well, anyway. I just had to draw my fHawke in his lap. I love him so much. And I know that the possibility of that happening is slim. He'd probably throw her to kingdom come if she tried that, even if you earn his respect. >_>;

I loved his designs in DA2

Though I would not advice romancing him unless you a) Don't mind converting to the Quen which pretty much removes all of your individuality in the end b) don't mind him cutting out the tongues of mages, including your own if your a mage c) have to let him invade other people's countries and force his religion on them and d) not be allowed to have pleasure, and only focus on labour, not even enjoying sex

Still, a romance option for a Qunari who has left the Qun would be pretty cool

Btw, did you get my last comment about that request we talked about?

I did too, he's so hot I stalked him all the time. But I never said I wanted to have a fullblown romancy romance with him though, never said it would be possible either, or in character for him xD... (But I must say having a rivalmance with him would be so hot id die)

And read up on qunari customs, please xD [link] They're not as evil as you think. They just have a very diffrent society than we're used to^^ And their religious wars are no better than the chantries'.

But i agree, romancing a Tal Vashoth would be so awesome, I hope they let us in DA3...

And uh, I've talked to you about a request?

NIELSPETERDEJONG In reply to drawanon [2011-03-23 00:51:33 +0000 UTC]

Ah I see XD Well forget I said anything then

And I actually have (I"m a real nerd here ) and there is actually a huge difference sadly. The thing is, is that it's not just a matter of a different society, because when your in the Qun you pretty much have to give up all your individuality I"m not saying that they eat babies and what not, but the reason why so many convert is because it's so easy, it pretty much encompasses your entire life, but at the same time you exchange who you are for "peace" sadly :C Also while the chantrie has religious wars, and their not the holiest of them all, they still allow for free thinking, and are more willing to be reasoned with (in comparison with the Qunari).

I like them mind you But it would be naieve (like that visicounts son ) to think that it's just a different form of religion, while once the Qun would be a majority in a region, everyone else would be forced to adopt to it as well. The chantry does want to spread the religion to others, but the Qunari sadly go on the extreme

And a Tal Vashoth? That was a Qunari mage right?

And you don't remember? Well it was a while ago

I was wondering if you would be willing to draw a picture of my Dalish elf Lyna together with Alistair?

I have two pictures here in which I added some background information about her in it [link] [link] Her tatoo is a little bit dark in the second picture, but at least it gives you an idea of what she looks like ^_^ Also I know that Dalish elves usually don't have large breasts, but she is the exception to this matter XD I also have another picture of her here in her battle mode: [link]

Here are also some other pictures about her and Alistair (Warning, the first four are nude pictures) [link] [link]

I love the huge diffrence, it poses a chance to think about what a completely other society may be like. This one is based on Sokrates and Platons ideal society, and when you think about it, all the Qun stands for is selflessness. You should try not to judge them out from a subjectieve standpoint, but judge it out from a objective one^^ You are assigned a role and job that fits your capabilities, and the people around you there is your family. They dont use money, everything is evenly distributed, and everyone is valued as a part of the whole. They value the self, thats why they fear the mages so much, because they so easily lose their 'self' to demons. So what they do to the mages are believed to be for the best for them. And they dont cut out their tunges unless they do forbidden shit. And the Qun is more of a philosophy, not a religion, as they dont believe in a god. But I'm not saying I would enjoy living like that, I just think that a diffrent culture should be viewed out from its own perimiters, and not judged out from its diffrence from our own society, where we value individuality like an obsession.

And Tal Vashoth are the one's who leave the Qun, the ones you meet outside of Kirkwall in act 1. Saarebas is their mages.

And uh, I have very little time right now, with my studies, so I have barely the time to draw drawings for myself^^ Maybe I'll accept a commision later at one point, but not before I'm finished with all of my exams.

NIELSPETERDEJONG In reply to drawanon [2011-03-23 08:40:30 +0000 UTC]

I like the differences as well And I actually am judging them from a objective one ^_^ I know that it is more of a philosophy, and I don't just judge from the difference from our own society I know that it is their way of dealing with things, but the sad thing is, is that individuality is very easily lost when it comes to people. And once you would be part of the Qun, you won't be able to convert back. You can convert from our society to theirs easily, because you are allowed to. But once your part of that system, you find that in practice there are sadly way too many shortcomings like that son of the visigoth. He wanted to "prove that the Qunari aren't evil and all that" but should the Qunari have been there in full force, they would have forced it upon those that did not choose it without mercy.

To me, the Qun is just like communism (which in essence, it is). In theory it is a very nice ideology, but in practice it has sadly only caused strife and just takes away a lot of things you and I hold for granted, and asks too much. The intentions are good, but the way they execute it, and the way how it works on practice sadly is another thing.

Maybe I"m a bit too much on this, but I guess it kinda reminded me of a situation that happened to a friend of mine some time ago. As you know, in the mid east there are a lot of places where people are still living in the dark ages when it comes to mindset. There are progressive muslims, but sadly also a lot of muslims to whom their religion is worth above everything. The reason why most of those in the west who convert to islam are female, is because their usually their main target, because a women can give birth to more muslims, and once she has been converted she is only allowed to have a muslim man. This is the reason why in the past half of the mid east was christian, and now only about 10% of the mid east is christian, and the rest is muslim :C

Thing is, there was this immigrant from Morrocco, who was sadly one of those "trouble bad boys" who couldn't care less about what happened to others around them. The sad thing is, is that to some girls this is attractive because they mistake their "I don't give a shit what happens to others around me" for a "self confidence" kind of character. She went with him even though he often in the past has called christians, jewish and homosexuals "filthy" right into their faces, and every time I tried to tell her that he was bad news she ignored it, one time even calling me a "racist" :C.

Either way, he confinced her to convert to the Islam (which is kinda odd, since she converts because her "macho" boyfriend tells her to, and not because she truly believes in it), and seeing as he for some reason got quite rich even with a poor education (he is said to trade in car parts or something ) he leaves with her to Morrocco, and her family and I have never heard from her again :C

This has sadly happened before in other cases as well, and I still feel that I might have done more to warn her for it. Ironically, she wouldn't listen to me because she was quite liberal, and said that we should "respect other people's cultures" and was not obvious to the present threat :C

There are very progressive muslims mind you, but to many they still have the mindset of "eat or be eaten" and that by converting women of another religion they would pretty much "steal their women".
In theory Islam is also a very nice religion, and people convert because they hear and read about it and think that it is nice, but the danger lies in A) it also encompasses your entire life, and unless you have a progressive family, you have to give up a lot of things too. B) In practice those same non-progressive muslims act in a 180 degree turn from what their religion tells them (drinking a lot, using violence etc.) while still acting holier then thou (this is sadly true, I have seen this happen over and over again :C

I'm not calling them monsters or anything, but because the religion is often still used in a backwards way (most immigrants in europe from the mid east actually came from those backwards area's because here they had jobs) even though in theory it sounds like a nice one, many women have converted to it because of a similar mindset which you have used here, and when they found out that in practice things weren't as they thought it would be it was too late :C

Oh well, forget my rant But it was just nice to get it off my chest

And I see Tal Vashoth eh? I should read more about them And yes, they would make an awesome companion

Ah I see Once you do have time, do you think that perhaps you could contact me?

xD You just listed alot of reason that youre very biased, so no, youre not judging them objectivly. But I'm not saying that I'd like to live like that, but it does have values. And in some ways it very close to communism, but on the other hand, not close to communism. But I wont take that debate^^

A Tal-Vashoth is for example the mercenary you meet who warn you about the other Tal Vashoth there. I wish we could reqruit him....

I wont have any time until after my exam, in June, but after that, if you still want me to draw something for you then, just pm me or something.

Well, I'm just curious Are you saying that I'm biased because I remember what happened to my friend? I just found similarities since the Qun are a people that subjectate their way of life on others as well, and people convert without knowing what it will mean in practice. Or did you mean something else?

Ah I see

Well once you have time, can't you just begin with the commission? I did give you all the info right?

I dont feel like ahving a discussion, too tired^^ Been working all day. Search biased up, and you'll see what i mean^^

Uhm, I wont begin drawing a commision unless youre still interested in one^^ Commisions do cost money, so you might change your mind.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NIELSPETERDEJONG In reply to drawanon [2011-03-23 23:15:31 +0000 UTC]

Well I did search it up, and I just think that it is very unfair of you to call me prejudiced

Like I said, not all are like that, but on the other hand it is just as bad to just ignore the threats that are available It's just common sence And once a area would be converted to the Qun, things won't exactly turn out for the better

You don't have to answer it now, but at least tell me why you think like that of me. I think it's just not true

And I thought that this would be a request?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

drawanon In reply to NIELSPETERDEJONG [2011-03-24 00:31:42 +0000 UTC]

Calm yo tits xD Gesus, its not an insult. Every person is biased, its not an insult. Its a very common way to point out flaws in someones argument, its nothing else. You said you were completely objectieve, and i called biased as an argument against that. Im not calling you names, so calm down. Its just a normal way to say that youre not completely objectieve.

And uh, I don't take requests, only commisions.

Tynan was the compromise person but romanced Anders. I'm really questioning if I should replay her to romance Fenris. I loved Anders so much in Awakening that I was STOKED to hear he was an LI in DA2. Then they screwed with him. She should've gone with Fenris instead. I like his personality more.
