It's finished. I've used way too much time on this.But anyway, after I read that Ketojan, the Saarebas you help out of the city, was originally planned to be a companion, I had a little ragefit and then had to draw WHAT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE /cry
Because the idea of Hawke helping him with those chains and the mask and stiches is just adorable.
I mean, how awesome wouldnt it be to have that guy around all the time. WHY BIOWARE, WHY DID YOU SCRAP THAT IDEA? IT WAS GOLD.
And his face was so much fun to draw. I think I'll upload a detail pic of it. And his face is of course all made up, I have no idea what he looks like.

The first time I got this quest I actually thought he's going to be a companion... Such a disappointment afterwards...

I was actually quite surprised to find there was no Quinari companion, considering all those crowds of Quinari running around. It wouldn't hurt the devs to spare one for Hawke, no?
After the epic disappointment with Ketojan, I've found that ex-Tal'Vashoth in the Hanged Man during Act 3 and was kinda hoping I could hire him, at least. But no, he's available for hire for everyone but the Champion of Kirkwall... Seriously, Bioware!

That mercenary is the one who warned you about Tal Vashoth. He came to terms with being a mercenary till Act 3 it seems

Just so. There's even a dialog option with him "So, are you interested in some work?" to which he says "Yes, but I will not work for you". When Hawke asks why, he says something like "I do not work for those with titles. They don't have jobs, they have causes. The more influence you have, the more you stand against."

Perhaps someone will write a mod for it. If this Qunari merc or Ketojan were supposed to be companions, there's a small chance some pieces of their unused dialog still remain inside the game files. One could use those pieces and a bit of scripting to actually add a Quinari follower. It won't be perfect, however

Well, it's something at least 8D But it would never feel even close to canon D: Bioware srsly need to give us a qunari companion. I can't even understand why they didn't. We got all the other races, but no qunari, when even the qunari had that huge part in the game D: Imagine bringing Ketojan to the qunari compound, THE DRAMA. It would be like bringing Legion to the Flotilla (If you've played Mass Effect 2 XD )

I played only the first ME, somehow it didn't interest me much, so I didn't bother to buy the second. Probably because I'm too much a melee weapons lover
But I guess bringing Ketojan to the qunari compound would be akin to bringing Merrill to the templars office and let her use blood magic in front of them
It'd be loads of fun.
But I think that saarebas would be clever enough not to go to the compound. Like Isabella

How about the basalit-an, "the respected outsider"? Someone who has proved to be worthy.
If, for example, Sten came back to Par Wollen and told them all about the Warden, I think the Qunari wouldn't object to the Warden visiting them. Things might get tricky if he/she is a mage, though - they'd have trouble finding a human/elven sized set of saarebas chains and mask
