This deviation has been moved to Misc. Art as deer are not currently in season. Β Feel free to resubmit it when they are. You can view what animals are in season for hunting on front page.Β

I thought it was a caribou? Otherwise I would've pointed it out to DrazziElder
The feet are trademark Caribou to me, but maybe I'm wrong.Β
From what I've seen, Deer have never been in season so I have no clue where anyone would get it in their head that they could include deer in a hunting image.
EDIT:Β I've just now checked. It says caribou are in season

In general, it's better if it's stated in the author's comment what the hunted animal is. That said, seeing as it's stuck between a deer or a caribou, I looked in the tags and it just said deer. Which leads to the assumption that what's being hunted is a deer.Β

size wise as pointed out b4 to me this looks like a caribou to me. it is too big to be a deer. saying so cus it was pointed out in one of my commissioned peaces that a fox looked like a wolf cus it was shown too big...caribou look similar to deer from the back end as most of the head isnt showing easily either or... so in this case size... it would be one hella big doe if it were a deer.
if you want us to be specific in what it is maybe that should be added to the info on the hunt page?

no offense but perhaps you should ask a person before assuming, cus its kinda artist's interpretation and all... its a little rude to just throw it away and just say its wrong... and a bit hurtful to an artist who worked their asses off to make it look like one thing and have some one say no that not right this doesn't count cus it doesn't look right.

im not trying to pick a fight... just sayin maybe lighten up and ask b4 jumping to conclusions? its not really fare and ppl r jumping ship cus there seems to be no pleasing you... im not a perfect artist and seeing the about of criticism small details r getting i keep thinking " nope i cant handle my art being judged like that" i would be really upset if my pic was judges and "wrong" after a lot of hard work...

Hi, Innali butting in here,Β

The artist herself tagged the deviation as deer, not caribou? I don't understand why people are arguing this is a caribou when the artist themselves said it was a deer. Thats why we knew it was intended to be a deer. If It had been tagged as a caribou we would have been like "oh okay" because yes we understand that some people do not know the differences between caribou and deer. We are not out to make anyone upset, that is not our intention. If we are unsure of what animal is in the picture, we will ask you. I appreciate your concern, but I don't really understand where it is coming from.

I understand this as well. However, in an image when there is something wrong with it you can usually edit it and fix it. From what Rosela said, Drazzi could just change the tag to 'caribou' and it would be rolled. That is my only dilemma. Is this the case, or will she have to actually edit the image? What would the minimum requirements be to change it to a caribou?

Innali In reply to MonstroMorgan [2014-12-31 05:12:15 +0000 UTC]

Where did she say that? O.oΒ

But minimum requirement to change it would I guess be add some antlers and colour it like a caribou, so just a quick edit really.

I didn't mean to imply she said that, but that is what I gathered from what she said.
That said, seeing as it's stuck between a deer or a caribou, I looked in the tags and it just said deer.
If the tag had said caribou, it would've been rolled, no?
But thank you for clarifying how to change it so it will be rolled.Β
Might I suggest doing this with any images that get moved to Misc. Art? I was very confused on how to change it so it was "correct".

Innali In reply to MonstroMorgan [2014-12-31 13:00:41 +0000 UTC]

That is not what she was implying at all.Β

She meant that if before this conversation was ever started, and it was tagged as a caribou, we probably would have rolled it as a caribou yes. But she can't just go change the tag now because we would know it wasn't that originally? And your welcome, but we already do that. Usually with hunting, if they draw the wrong animal, to "fix it" would be to make it an animal that can be hunted, so we don't usually have to explain it much

I never meant she was implying that, I said that is what I gathered from what she said.
In this case, how to fix it was necessary since she said she wasn't sure if it was a deer or caribou.
But thank you, I understand.

I understand. I have seen people tag tokotas wolves because they are loosely based on them, maybe this is a similar case. Regardless, I don't believe tokota hunting will ever be open for deer, and since it is easily mistaken/proven as caribou or deer I don't see why the image can't be rolled. She wouldn't have to change anything except the tag for it to be classified as a caribou is what I've gathered from what you've said.Β
