I find it really odd that the anime calls him and his company NME, even though the N and M stand for NightMare his name. I really doubt that they where going for "HE IS THE COMPANY" with that
I still hold the head cannon that the defeat of Nightmare Enterprises left a void that Haltmann Works Co. fillNightmare copyright of Nintendo

This reminds me of kirby fright to the finish, which I recently got the dvd for. Best kirby villain 10/10...though a bit cliché in the anime.

This is a pretty accurate depiction of Nightmare. Always did like his shades.

I guess they saw him as being defeated for good, or the developers thought Dark matter and Galactic Nova were more interesting.
I do admit, it would've been nice if he had been referenced a bit more. Perhaps they could have gone the route they did for the Japanese anime, in which Nightmare states that he would always be around.
