This is yet another idea that has been kicking around in my head for quite some time.
Before I get to the evolution I made which actually has a lot of interesting touches to it, I first want to talk a little bit about the regional variant I came up with for Farfetch'd.
The story I am writing for the Jakar-region has been in development for well over 2 years at this point and it has changed at least 4 times. But when I chose to set it in South East Asia, I then later realizes that it would be kind of cool to make a version of Farfetch'd that had adapted to the turbulent weather that is associated with this part of the world. Particularly the monsoon-season that also provided some inspiration for another Pokemon that you are going to see sometime in the near future. The traditional strawhats and coats that farmers wear provided a cool silouette while also giving off some parasol-vibes, which immediately made me think about the kasaobake, a yokai that is basically a living umbrella. This also provided me with the perfect excuse to make a new ghost-type for my region.
The touch in its pokedex-entry about how it sleeps in shrines was just the cherry on top.
Some of you might be puzzled about the fire-moves in it learnable moves, but the reason why will be more apparent when I talk about the evolution...
