~Pictured are her Alarmed colors as well as her calm coloration. ~Short for Naartjie Pronounced Nar-Chee. Her name means Citrus. She, like Merrickai, are Dasyatidae-Aves, or Avian Ray Wyverns. In their world, they are referred to as the avians as opposed to the Raptors, which are the Dasyatidae-septentrionalis, or Northern Ray Wyverns, a featherless and more ruthless Devision.

the word avian is used in its actual form, to refer to a birdlike creature. The name of the species is Dasyatidae-aves, the Avian-Ray Wyverns. for short, the feathered ones are avians, and the non feathered ones are raptors.

I know what the word avian stands for :3 (which is why I found "Avian" a bit of a bad choice for a species name), I was just a little confused about whether or not it was a species
