okay so in the future (like ten years maybe why yes he does keep that hairstyle and sweater for a long time why do you ask), when they've been married for a while Jay and Zodiac apply to adopt! and they eventually get approved and adopt their perfect lil daughter, Maria!! (in the future China removes their head from their butt and allows same-sex couples to adopt, yay!)
they get her when she's like 3. she's initially shy, and very wary of strangers, but soon grows out of it and becomes super charismatic and bubbly. she's uber duber sweet, and is able to make anyone smile, just like her daddy .u. she calls Zo 'dad' and Jay 'daddy' no fuckin' daddy jokes I sweAR

they move into a larger suburban house from their downtown apartment: one with two (two!!) floors, mostly carpeted cause skidding on hardwood with hooves ain't fun, a large backyard (THEY ALSO EVENTUALLY GET A DOG, AND A CAT) aand a bathroom just for Maria. cause centaur toilet needs are rather different.

in the even farther future, one of Maria's friends brings her to their youth group, and she starts going to church and becomes a ~Christian~. Jay is initially apprehensive and kind of 'eeeehhhh' cause his only experience with Christians was his own conservative family kicking him out when he was 16, but he gradually gets more okay with it and they even go to her baptism and have a good time : D
Zodiac's perfectly fine with it cause he's just happy she found something to believe in that makes her happy c:

Jay and Zodiac are the best most caring dads and Maria is like the most perfect child

and they all live happily ever after and love each other so so much for all of eternity ♥♥♥

PS she sometimes gets to hang out with Chester and Oliver, and calls them Uncle Chester and Uncle Oliver~

maria is too good for this world It was a typical Sunday afternoon. The sun cast its golden rays through the window, illuminating the living room where father, father, and daughter relaxed, each respectively enjoying the last of the weekend.
"Dad," Maria said. It was a tone that foreshadowed a question.
"Yes, darling?"
"When am I gonna get my second pair of legs?"
Zodiac looked up from his book. And blinked. "What?"
Maria gestured to her own two furry legs, then to Zodiacs. "When do I start to look like you and Daddy?"
He finally understood. "Oh! Ahm, well..." He shared a look with Jay. They nodded: it was time.
Both centaurs rose and settled before her.
"Maria," Zodiac said softly. "We aren't the same species."
She tilted her head. "Huh?"
"You weren't born from us. Your birth mother lives very far away, in another country. I'm sure she loved you very much, and giving you up was probably the hardest thing she ever had to do. But because of that choice she made, you're here with us
