Of all the people I met at GDC, I enjoyed meeting this guy the most.

Ralph H. Baer invented pong and started the video game industry as we know it. I am too young to remember Pong, but I do remember wasting hours of my precious childhood playing "Simon" which he ALSO invented.

Cool fact about this drawing. I originally drew a round ball. He changed it to a square one. He said they were never able to get the round one to work.

This guy was the first Famous Game Developer we met who had an actual GOOD handshake and seemed genuinely pleased to meet us. He told us not to give up even when it's hard because really, what you get out of life is what you're willing to put into it, and that all the talent in the world won't get you anywhere if you don't have the drive.
